I installed a new fuel pump about 3 months ago. Wife said car started losing power about a week ago, progressively got worse, now has NO power, barely makes it up driveway.
fuel pressure is reading 48-50 psi how do I check flow? Jeff I put in a good MAFS now it is running rough but only the 0300 code is coming in could it still be a fuel flow problem. Problems always start after my wife gets low on fuel.
use your wifes measuring cup and pull the pressure line off and disable the ignition or if you want to bypass the fuel pump relay and see how quickly you can get a litre of fuel, look for air bubbles as well! That pressure is below what the spec should be! Mind If I ask what brand of pump u put it? Did your new pump come with the revised connector and pigtail?
airtex- might be the regulator the pump will put out 65. found a guy with the same codes and problems it ended up being a bad cat. converter.
Thanks for your help Jeff.
so it's fixed? that brand of pump isn't known for it's reliability! what about the revised connector? the regulator isn't part of the pump it's part of the injection system! does the fuel pressure bleed off?
Sounds like it's time to take a fuel pressure and flow reading!
