2002 ford taurus DOHC engine codes P0305 P0316
I have had the check engine light come on for a few days then go off for a few days. don't really know what the problem is. codes report misfire on cylinder 5 and a crankshaft position censor. Don't know how a position censor could pick one cylinder to fail on. I changed the spark plug same problem swapped the spark plug wire pair (1 and 5) from the coil to see if part of the coil is the problem and cylinder 1 would fail now. didn't stayed with cylinder 5 Has anyone had a problem with the Crankshaft position sensor.
So the P0305 is solved??? It sounds like it??? To my knowledge P0316 is Engine Misfire Detected on Startup (First 1000 Revolutions). So where are you at with the issue? Did you replace the #1/5 coil/wire yet? It sounds to me like if you fix the single cylinder misfire then you're all set.
