2002 Ford Expedition 5.4L Engine P1000 Code: OBD Readiness Test Not Complete

Model: 2002 ford expedition Fault Code: P1000 Posted: 2014-06-11 21:05

The P1000 diagnostic trouble code (DTC) on a 2002 Ford Expedition with a 5.4L engine indicates that the OBD systems readiness test has not been completed. This is typically an informational code, meaning it does not indicate a serious fault but rather that the vehicle's onboard diagnostics have not yet finished all required monitoring cycles. If you recently disconnected the battery or cleared the code, this may be why the P1000 code persists. The code should resolve itself after several driving cycles under normal conditions, especially when the engine is driven for extended distances with varied operating conditions.

P1000 = OBD Systems Readiness Test Not Complete. Have you disconnected the battery recently or cleared any codes? The code should disappear after a few complete drive cycles, especially under varied driving conditions.

Yes, I have disconnected the battery and driven over 500 miles, but the P1000 code still remains. It seems to be persistent despite normal operation and extended mileage.

For reference: http://www.obd-codes.com/p1000 The P1000 code is generally informational — it means the system hasn't completed all required monitor tests. You can safely ignore this DTC if it's the only one present. To clear the light sooner, complete a full drive cycle.
