2002 Chrysler Neon 1.6i Frequently Enters Limp Mode with P0140, P0106, and P2135 Error Codes

Model: 2002 Chrysler Neon 1.6i Fault Code: P0106 Posted: 2013-08-26 15:12

I own a 2002 Chrysler Neon 1.6i (European model) with approximately 106,000 kilometers. Recently, the vehicle has started entering limp mode more frequently—characterized by a beep sound and the activation of the check engine light. This behavior was rare in the past but now occurs almost daily. When limp mode activates, I immediately stop the car, turn it off, and wait for 2 to 3 minutes before restarting. After rebooting, the limp mode disappears, and the vehicle operates normally. However, the check engine light remains on until it automatically turns off after a few kilometers. This issue became particularly frustrating during summer. To diagnose the root cause, I used an ELM327 OBD2 scanner and retrieved three error codes from the ECU: P0140, P0106, and P2135. I am seeking expert advice on how to properly address these fault codes and resolve the recurring limp mode issue. Any insights or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.
