2001 Xterra P1126 Fault: Engine Won't Start Despite Replaced CPS, Fuel Pump, and Other Components
I own a 2001 Toyota Xterra that was running fine until one day it suddenly failed to start. The engine turns over normally, but will not ignite. I have already replaced the crankshaft position sensor (CPS), thermostat, fuel pump, fuel filter, distributor cap, and rotor button. After these replacements, the vehicle displays a P1126 diagnostic code, indicating an issue with the crankshaft position sensor or related system. Despite troubleshooting multiple components, I'm still unable to identify the root cause. Any insights or suggestions for diagnosing this specific P1126 error on a 2001 Xterra would be greatly appreciated.
Could you confirm whether your vehicle is equipped with an electronic throttle body, as this component may interact with the crankshaft position sensor and contribute to P1126 code activation?
