P0441 Fault Code on 2001 Toyota Tundra: Causes and Fixes

Model: 2001 TOYOTA TUNDRA Fault Code: P0441 Posted: 2007-12-12 19:17

The check engine light is on in my 2001 Toyota Tundra, and the diagnostic trouble code P0441 has been detected. I've already checked the gas cap, which appears to be secure, and the truck emits a slight gasoline odor. Could this be related to an evaporative emission system issue? Any insights or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.

Inspect all hoses for cracks, blockages, or signs of deterioration. A faulty vacuum solenoid valve (VSV) could also be the source of the P0441 code.

It's best to take the vehicle to a professional shop equipped with a smoke machine that can properly diagnose and repair evaporative emission system trouble codes like P044-1.

Thanks! I found the issue — one of the hoses had come loose and was not properly connected.

The radiator or A/C system is unrelated to P0441; this code specifically pertains to the evaporative emission system, not cooling components.
