My 2001 Dodge Ram 4x4 pickup has a pending diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P1494, which indicates a 'SPCUT Solenoid Circuit Malfunction'. I've recently been experiencing evaporation system-related DTCs, and after repairing the hose and harness connections at the Leak Detection Pump (LDP) and duty purge cycle solenoid, the previous codes P0455 and P0442 have disappeared. However, they are now replaced by P1494. I'm seeking clarification on where to locate this issue and what diagnostic steps to take next. Specifically, is P1494 directly related to my evaporative emissions system problems? What components should I inspect or test to resolve this?

P1494 refers to a failure in the Leak Detection Pump (LDP) pressure switch. This could indicate a faulty sensor. If you've manually tested the switch and it appears functional, try clearing the code using your scan tool. If the P1494 returns after clearing, this confirms a defective pressure switch.

Rechecked my hose routing and discovered I switched two hoses around coming from the LDP and off of the evap cannister. After properly hooking up, the code was erased and did not return. Now I have my original DTC's: P0442 and P0455.
