Hello, I recently checked my 2001 Nissan Sentra at Autozone and received a diagnostic code P1491. After replacing the knock sensor, this error code has reappeared. According to the manufacturer documentation, P1491 relates to a vacuum cut valve bypass issue — specifically, a malfunction in the vacuum control system that regulates engine performance under certain conditions. I'm not entirely sure what this means technically or how to fix it. Does anyone have experience with this code on a 2001 Nissan Sentra? What steps should I take next? Thanks, John

Make sure that the vacuum cut valve or its associated components were not damaged during your previous repair, and verify that all hoses and connectors are securely attached and intact. A missing or improperly installed part could trigger this code even after replacing the knock sensor.
