P0171 and P0174 Error on 2001 Infinity I30 - Cold Start Engine Misses, Resolves with Warm-Up
I own a 2001 Infinity I30. After replacing a faulty coil pack that previously caused engine misfires, I now receive diagnostic codes P0171 and P0174. The issue manifests only when the engine is cold: during startup, the car starts smoothly, but as soon as it's put into gear and begins moving, a noticeable engine miss occurs. This misfire disappears when I accelerate, and the vehicle runs normally under acceleration. At highway speeds, the check engine light activates, and the P0170/P0174 codes reappear. I've already replaced the air filter with no improvement. The car runs fine regardless of whether the check engine light is on or off. It never has trouble starting. This misfire behavior occurs exclusively during cold engine conditions.
The mass air flow (MAF) sensor is a common culprit for P0171 and P0174 codes; it's worth inspecting or replacing to rule out faulty airflow readings.
