Model: 2001 Hyundai Accent Fault Code: P0708 Posted: 2007-06-01 14:51

Hello everyone, I recently diagnosed my 2001 Hyundai Accent GS using an OBD2 scanner and found three diagnostic trouble codes: P0708, P0722, and P0717. I'm looking for clarification on what these codes mean and how they might affect the vehicle's performance. Any insights or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

The P0708, P0722, and P071-1 codes typically indicate issues with the transmission range sensor or vehicle speed sensor — specifically a lack of signal. Have there been any recent repairs or maintenance work performed on the transmission? Has the Check Engine Light (MIL) remained illuminated for an extended period?

Thanks for the response! No transmission-related work has been done recently, and yes, the MIL has been on for quite some time. I came across a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) numbered 03-40-022, which appears to address P0717 and P0722 issues. The TSB suggests replacing the no-pulse generator signal components located at A and B terminals — this might be relevant for my situation.
