2001 Honda Prelude Running Rich - Nitrous Oxide Setup and Fuel System Issues

Model: 2001 Honda Prelude Fault Code: P2177 Posted: 2007-04-26 13:53

I'm currently running a 75-shot nitrous oxide setup on my 2001 Honda Prelude and planning to fully build the engine this summer to support a ported 100-150 shot of nitrous. Given the increased power demands, I'm concerned about potential fuel delivery issues and suspect I may have pushed the system beyond safe operating limits. As someone building a high-performance engine for racing applications, I want to ensure my fuel system can handle these loads without triggering fault codes or causing long-term damage.

While increased fuel pressure and volume may be necessary under high-load conditions, vehicles designed as dual-purpose machines—like the 2001 Honda Prelude—are particularly prone to throwing diagnostic codes when operating on the edge of performance. This is especially true with nitrous oxide systems that require precise fuel mapping.

Ok. I wasn't sure if you were "One Of Those People" just trying to get more power out of your vehicle by using an after market part. Some people want more power or responsiveness from their vehicles & will buy just about anything for it. Now I understand why you got that regulator. It says it's adjustable so look over the instructions. So, you should be able to use it for normal driving & then readjust it for racing.

Yes, the engine build will be completed by the end of this summer. I think it would be best to wait until after the build is finished before asking more detailed questions, as my actual setup and performance needs will differ significantly at that point.
