P0700 = Trans Control System Malfunction. This is a generic code...it just says something's wrong. P0740 = TCC Circuit Malfunction Check wiring/connectors to Torque Converter Clutch solenoid as well as the solenoid itself...and fix the leak.

Engine light came on had a diagnostic test ran on it it read codes 61-1,65-1 & po497 what does that mean?

The first two codes are not valid. What car/year/engine...and symptoms? Start a new post.

New to a Forum post ... but looking for some help ... I have a major transmission slip problem with my 2001 Honda Civic. I get codes that show a primary code of p1298 (repeated after erasing) stored codes of p0700, p0730 and p0740. I had no problems with the transmission until yesterday and the fluid doesn't smell burned and it looks clean (red) and doesn't appear low. I am hoping that someone can tell me what the likely replacement parts would be for fixing the problem based off of the codes. The p1298 refers to a Electrical Load Detector - which doesn't seem to be the problem and the other "culprits" seem to point to the p0700, Transmission Control System or the p0730 code report of Incorrect Gear Ratio or p0740 that points to the Torque Clutch Circuit ... I hope there is a reasonable way to diagnose and replace/repair some (or all?) of these. THANKS Frank
