2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT - P0101 and P0102 Fault Codes Causing Engine Stalling and Jerking
Hi, I'm having a serious issue with my 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT. The car will sometimes run for only a few minutes before stalling completely, and on other occasions it won't start at all. This started with noticeable jerking while driving—similar to a transmission freeze or fuel cutoff at high speeds—and then the engine died mid-drive. Since then, I've been unable to keep it running consistently. I previously replaced the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor based on forum advice, and it worked for about a few hours before the jerking returned. Despite spending $250 on parts assuming it was just a tune-up issue, the problem persists. The car is now showing diagnostic trouble codes P0101 (Mass Airflow Sensor Range/Performance Problem) and P0102 (Mass Airflow Sensor Signal Too Low), which I believe are related to airflow sensing issues. However, since replacing the MAF didn't resolve it permanently, I'm unsure what else could be causing this. I'm very concerned because I have a baby due in one month—any reliable troubleshooting steps or potential causes would be greatly appreciated. Any insights on how to diagnose and fix these codes in a 2001 Grand Prix GT would be extremely helpful.
