P0136 on a 2001 Ford Taurus SES

Model: 2001 Ford Taurus SES Fault Code: P0136 Posted: 2010-06-14 22:50

This code showed up about a month ago. I changed two of the four O2 Sensors at one time then about two weeks later I changed the other two. After doing so I cleared the code and the check engine light went off for several days but it has now returned with the same reading. If anyone has any tips or any other information, it would be greatly appreciated!!!!

That DTC is for the downstream O2 heater circuit. You will need to check for continuity and also appropriate power and ground at the sensor. The problem could be a pinched, shorted, or open in the wiring harness, or the problem could be the PCM not rpoviding the heater circuit voltage. Do you have a digital multi-meter?

Thanks for the reply CaptainRich. And yes, my father has one that I use.

Your problem could also be the bosch 02 sensors! If you follow the other current posts on the t-bird with 02 codes and the issues he's having it may shed some light on it!
