2001 Ford F250 Super Duty 7.3L Engine Light On: P0308 and P0674 Fault Codes Explained

Model: 2001 Ford F250 Super Duty Fault Code: P0308 Posted: 2015-11-30 12:45

My 'Service Engine Soon' light is illuminated, and after using an OBD2 scanner, I've identified fault codes P0308 and P0674. Based on the codes, I suspect a misfire in cylinder #8 and a glow plug issue in cylinder #4. Can I safely drive this 2001 Ford F250 Super Duty with these codes active until repairs are completed? Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

P0308 indicates a misfire in cylinder #8. P0674 points to a glow plug fault in cylinder #4. A short-term drive should be safe for a few days or until you reach the weekend, assuming reasonable mileage. Perform a visual inspection—check for loose connections, damaged wires, or leaks. Glow plugs are relatively easy to inspect and replace. Also, have you recently performed any maintenance on the fuel system, such as filter changes? This could contribute to misfires or poor performance.
