I've experienced multiple transmission issues with my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4, including a previous rebuild at 74,000 miles. Now I'm encountering Diagnostic Trouble Code P1762. Based on my experience and testing, I'm 99% confident the governor pressure sensor is faulty. I'm mechanically skilled and can replace the sensor myself without needing a dealer diagnosis—this would save me significant costs. My question: Would it be worth spending time and effort to fix this? Currently, I don't have first gear, but second through overdrive shift smoothly. Any insights or experiences with this code on the 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9L engine would be greatly appreciated.

It might be worth trying a DIY replacement—what's the worst-case scenario? The transmission could still shift normally, and you'd only spend your own time and money.
