2001 Chrysler Concorde P1495 Leak Detection Pump Solenoid Issue and Power Brake Problem

Model: 2001 Chrysler Concorde Fault Code: P1495 Posted: 2015-05-10 09:42

I'm experiencing fault code P1495 on my 2001 Chrysler Concorde, which indicates a 'Leak Detection Pump Solenoid Circuit' issue. In addition to this, I have a noticeable power brake problem—very weak braking response—even after replacing the brake pads. There's also a hissing sound coming from under the dashboard. I've been advised that this might be due to a power booster failure. Can the P1495 code and the brake performance issues be related? Is there a connection between engine vacuum leaks and the P1495 fault?

Both the P1495 code and the power brake issue can potentially be linked, but not through a simple vacuum leak. P1495 specifically refers to the Leak Detection Pump Solenoid Circuit — this is related to wiring issues, such as a short to ground or an open circuit in the LDP solenoid control, rather than engine vacuum. A vacuum leak typically does not cause significant brake performance problems and would not trigger P1495. The fault code points directly to electrical faults within the system, including possible grounding or open circuits in the solenoid control circuit or a failure in the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) signal.
