2001 Chevy Tracker ZR2 OBD Code P0102: Mass Air Flow Sensor Issue and Engine Hesitation
I own a 2001 Chevrolet Tracker ZR2 with over 209,000 miles on the odometer. Until now, it has run reliably without major issues. However, yesterday, the vehicle began hesitating while driving and the "Check Engine" light illuminated. At a stoplight, the engine unexpectedly shut off. I managed to restart it in Park, but upon acceleration, it continued to hesitate. It ran fine for a few miles before the issue returned. I had to start the car four times just to navigate one intersection and pull into a parking lot. At the oil change and inspection facility, they used an OBD2 scanner and detected code P0100 — Mass or Volume Air Flow A Circuit Low Input. We replaced the mass air flow (MAF) sensor with a new one, but after installation, the vehicle will not start at all. The engine only runs when the MAF sensor is disconnected, though the check engine light remains on. This car serves as my primary mode of transportation to work, so any advice or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.
