2001 Chevrolet Blazer P0335 Code: Crankshaft Position Sensor Fault Diagnosis and Repair
My 2001 Chevrolet Blazer 4.3L engine has been running roughly during heavy acceleration, with erratic tachometer readings, misfires, and stutters. The issue has persisted for some time. After shutting off the vehicle at work, it failed to restart. Using a MODIS scanner, I detected fault codes P0101, P0335, P0401, and P1637. Instead of testing power supply to the crankshaft position sensor (CPS), I replaced it with a new unit featuring a shim due to the original sensor contacting the reluctor ring. While inspecting under the vehicle, I noticed a significant oil leak near the oil filter. The CPS pigtail is also heavily contaminated with oil. I confirmed power to the green wire of the crankshaft position sensor when the key is on. According to specifications, should there be power available on the pink wire as well? Any guidance or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.
