P0171 Fault Diagnosis for 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix with 3.8L Engine
I currently own a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix equipped with a 3.8L engine and has accumulated 83,000 miles. The OBD-II diagnostic code P0171 has been detected. Based on common causes, this issue may stem from a malfunctioning Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor, a vacuum hose leak, or a clogged fuel filter. I'm seeking reliable suggestions on how to diagnose and resolve this problem. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Pascie
Those are indeed common causes for P0171. Cleaning the MAF sensor is a good first step. Have any recent maintenance work been performed on the vehicle? How does it perform under normal driving conditions?
