2000 Ford Explorer OBD P0171 and P0174 Codes Returning After Washing - Possible Airflow System Issue?
My 2000 Ford Explorer, with over 150,000 miles, has been showing up OBD fault codes P0171 and P0174 after being washed. I've previously reset the codes and the truck runs fine temporarily. However, the codes reappear consistently following a wash. Could this be related to moisture affecting components in the airflow system? The vehicle's age suggests potential wear, but I'm wondering if environmental exposure is contributing to the issue.
Unless the Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor has been soaked or a vacuum line was dislodged during washing, it's unlikely that one code directly caused the other. Moisture exposure could still impact sensor performance or create temporary misreads in the airflow system.
