2000 Dodge Stratus 2.4L P0441 Incorrect Purge Flow After Filler Neck Replacement and LDP Repair
Vehicle History: - A P0442 error was initially detected, leading to replacement of the Leak Detection Pump (LDP). - Subsequently, a P0455 error appeared due to rusted filler neck, prompting its replacement. - Currently, a P0441 code (Incorrect Purge Flow) is present with the MIL illuminated (Code 113). Question: Should I test the Purge Control Solenoid by placing my hand on it during operation to feel or hear for clicks when cycling? The code emerged after the filler neck replacement and only appeared after the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) was cleared. Could the vent hose or gas tank inlet hose have been disturbed during installation, affecting components above the fuel tank? While some suggest a faulty gasoline cap, I question its likelihood given the sequence of events. Additional concerns: Is it possible that the vacuum lines connected to the LDP are incorrectly wired? Given the vehicle's age and known EVAP system sensitivity, could a leak or improper connection in the evaporative emissions system be contributing to this issue?
I suspect the vacuum lines connected to the LDP may have been reversed during installation. This is a common error and can trigger P0441 codes even if the LDP itself is functional.
