2000 Dodge Dakota V8 Fault Code P0205 - Injector Circuit Issue

Model: 2000 Dodge Dakota V8 Fault Code: P0205 Posted: 2016-04-15 18:24

I own a 2000 Dodge Dakota with an V8 Magnum engine, and I'm currently experiencing a fault code P0205. The issue appears to be related to a circuit problem involving the fifth fuel injector. Based on diagnostic data, this is likely a wiring or electrical connection failure in the injector harness. To troubleshoot, first inspect the injector connector for tightness, corrosion, and signs of physical damage. Ensure no wires are pulled out or damaged. With the key off and engine off (KOEO), check if there is 12 volts present on both wires at the injector connector while testing. It may also be helpful to gently shake the injector harness during testing to identify loose connections or intermittent faults.

This fault code P0205 indicates a circuit issue with fuel injector #5. Begin by checking the injector connector for proper tightness, corrosion, and physical damage. Ensure no wires are disconnected or pulled out. With the engine off (KOEO), verify that both wires at the injector connector show 12 volts. Gently shaking the harness during testing may help detect intermittent faults or loose wiring connections.
