2000 Buick Regal 3.8L Engine P0327 Knock Sensor Bank 1 Fault: Wiring Issue and Correct Wire Color

Model: 2000 Buick Regal Fault Code: P0327 Posted: 2014-08-08 00:44

I'm experiencing a P0327 diagnostic trouble code on my 2000 Buick Regal with the 3.8L engine. The knock sensor circuit in Bank 1 is showing a 'circuit low' fault. I've checked for power at the sensor end and found none. Tracing the wiring, I followed the light blue wire from the knock sensor to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), but it appears someone has spliced it into a blue wire with a white stripe approximately four inches before reaching the PCM. The splice connects the light blue wire coming out of the PCM to the blue wire with white stripe about three inches down, and I'm now seeing no signal after that point. I'm currently in the process of separating the wires to determine if this was simply a wiring color mismatch or a more serious fault. Can anyone confirm what the correct wire number and color should be for the Bank 1 knock sensor circuit? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Richard.

For the 2000 Buick Regal 3.8L engine, is this a 3.8L 8th VIN model or a different variant? This helps confirm wiring compatibility.
