2000 Acura TL P1768 Fault: Transmission Clutch Solenoid Purge Valve Circuit Diagnosis

Model: 2000 Acura TL Fault Code: P1768 Posted: 2007-11-23 14:00

I'm experiencing a P1768 diagnostic code on my 2000 Acura TL, which the manufacturer has identified as 'transmission clutch solenoid purge valve circuit'. While this issue sounds costly, the dealership couldn't provide an exact part price since the fault code doesn't specify the precise component failing. Can anyone confirm where the clutch solenoid purge valve is located in a 2000 Acura TL? Are there any known common issues or similar experiences with this code? Note: The transmission was replaced under warranty at approximately 50,000 miles ago.

Based on the transmission design, the clutch solenoid purge valve is typically located within the valve body. This component is part of the transmission's internal control system and may require disassembly for access.

It sounds like your warranty coverage has expired, especially given that the transmission was replaced at around 50,000 miles ago. Most manufacturer warranties end after that point unless extended.

Yes, the warranty is now expired. However, I don't need it anymore—initially, a blown ECU fuse put my car into safe mode. The real issue now is figuring out why that fuse keeps blowing, which may be related to electrical faults or short circuits in the transmission control system.
