1999 Jeep Wrangler 4-Cylinder with P0171 O2 Sensor Code - Troubleshooting Guide

Model: 1999 jeep wrangler Fault Code: P0171 Posted: 2008-06-26 21:12

Hi, I own a 1999 Jeep Wrangler 4-cylinder and am currently experiencing a P0171 diagnostic trouble code. I've already replaced the oxygen sensor, checked all vacuum lines, and verified that all electrical connectors are secure and properly connected. Everything appears to be in order, but the P0171 code persists. What could be causing this issue? Any suggestions or common causes for a P0171 code on this model?

Have you checked for any exhaust leaks before the oxygen sensor? Even small leaks can trigger a P0171 code in a 1999 Jeep Wrangler.

That's quite rare — three P0171 codes appearing on the same day. Is this a new record for your vehicle or a specific issue with the engine management system?

Nope! I don't even read the posts po171 posts anymore unless Im tricked with a different heading like this one. It's about as stupid as calling 411 all the time because when you're too lazy to read the yellow pages IMO.

Thanks for the helpful input! I'm sorry I didn't reply sooner — I was out of town and sick for a while. Unfortunately, I've since stopped working on my Jeep and can't test any fixes right now.
