1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee P0720 Fault: How to Fix Speed Sensor Issue?

Model: 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Fault Code: P0720 Posted: 2008-10-20 08:15

I'm experiencing a P0720 trouble code on my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. This model has a speed sensor located in the rear wheel anti-lock brake system, and I've been trying to resolve this issue myself. Approximately four weeks ago, I had my throttle position sensor replaced at a dealership, and about 900 miles later, the P0720 code appeared. The fact that it's showing up after such a recent service makes me suspect a connection or interference—though I'm not sure what exactly. I'd like to know if there's a specific fix for this code on my model, especially since I'm considering doing the repair myself.

I encountered the same P0720 error on my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee and resolved it by replacing the speed sensor located at the rear of the transmission, specifically on the driver's side.
