1998 Chevrolet Pickup P0305 Fault Code: Diagnosis and Fixes

I've already replaced the fuel filter, spark plugs on the left bank, and the distributor cap and rotor. The vehicle is still showing a P0305 engine fault code. What should I check next to resolve this issue?

AC Delco components can make a difference in performance and reliability. Additionally, the spider injection system used in 1998 Chevrolet pickups was known to have common issues that may contribute to misfires.

I own a 1999 Chevrolet Pickup with a 5.7L V8 engine. My P0305 code was caused by valves being too tight. After replacing all the standard parts as suggested, I discovered that simply removing the valve cover and slightly loosening the valves for cylinder 5 resolved the problem.
