After replacing both catalytic converters on my 1998 Chevrolet C2500 HD 7.4L diesel truck with an automatic transmission, the vehicle is still showing DTC P0472. This code typically indicates a 'low exhaust pressure sensor signal' or 'exhaust pressure sensor low'. However, I noticed in some sources that the code might be misinterpreted as relating to a steering handwheel speed sensor — this appears to be an error in labeling, as P0472 is specifically for exhaust pressure monitoring. The truck has 150,000 miles and has been used but not heavily abused. I have cleared the DTC today and will monitor whether it returns under normal driving conditions.
