P0320 Diagnostic and Fixes for 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Model: 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Fault Code: P0320 Posted: 2011-08-05 08:27

The check engine light has reappeared on my 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee, now displaying a P032-than code. Previously, the vehicle showed a P0455 code indicating a significant evaporative emissions system leak. I have already replaced the gas cap twice and the fuel pump (which was a separate issue). Additionally, the purge solenoid and a vacuum line nipple were replaced. During recent operation, the check engine light reactivated with a P0320 error. What are the most common causes of this code? Which components should I inspect or replace to resolve it? Please provide practical troubleshooting steps for this specific model year and application.

I recently encountered a P0320 code on my wife's 2005 Kia Sedona, which also caused the tachometer to stop working. I'm looking for advice on how to diagnose and fix this issue—any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked or replaced the crankshaft position sensor yet? This is a common cause of P0320 in older Jeep models like the 1997 Grand Cherokee.
