P1445 Diagnostic Help: 1997 Ford Ranger 4.0L 4WD - Purge Flow Sensor Issue
Hello everyone, I'm currently dealing with a P1445 diagnostic code on my 1997 Ford Ranger with a 4.0L V6 engine and 4WD system. The check engine light has come on, and the code indicates 'Purge Flow Sensor Circuit High Input'. So far, I've replaced both purge valves in the vacuum line running from the throttle body to the vapor canister, as well as the vacuum hose itself. I've also inspected the vapor canister for damage and confirmed that my gas cap is secure and properly sealed. I'm looking for input from others who have encountered this exact P1445 code on their 1997 Ford Ranger. What steps did you take to diagnose or resolve it? According to the service manual, 'Purge Flow Sensor Circuit High Input' suggests an issue with the sensor detecting excessive resistance or a fault in the circuit. Where is the purge flow sensor located exactly? Is it one of the two modules in the vacuum line system? What does Ford define as a 'high input'? Does this point to a short in the electrical wiring? Any insights, troubleshooting tips, or known fixes would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!
