1996 Ford F150 5.0L Engine P1131 O2 Sensor Fault - Transmission Won't Move in Drive

Model: 1996 Ford 150 Fault Code: P1131 Posted: 2015-10-13 10:22

I have a 1996 Ford F15-0 with a 5.0L V8 engine. The truck drives smoothly in reverse, but when shifted into drive, it does not move at all. The check engine light is on and the fault code displayed is P1131, which relates to an oxygen (O2) sensor issue. I'm wondering if this O2 sensor problem could be causing the transmission to fail in drive or if there's another underlying mechanical cause.

P1131 is an oxygen sensor fault and does not directly affect transmission operation. The issue with the truck not moving in drive is likely unrelated to the O2 sensor code. It may point to a transmission problem, such as a faulty gear selector or hydraulic failure, rather than emissions-related issues.
