I've been experiencing misfires in my 1996 Dodge Ram Van, which led me to replace the spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and air filter. After these changes, the vehicle ran smoothly for a while, but the P0132 oxygen sensor fault code returned. I replaced the O2 sensor, but the code persists even after resetting the system. I'm looking for reliable troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue. Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Did you install a cheap Bosch universal O2 sensor? Does your vehicle have two oxygen sensors? Make sure to complete a proper drive cycle. For persistent hard codes, disconnect the battery for at least five minutes to clear the fault. Check the wiring from the sensor to the transmission—there's also an O2 sensor fuse that should be verified. This issue can be tricky to fix; there are experienced technicians on this forum, but some may not be fully active or responsive. Wait until tomorrow and check again. Many similar posts have been discussed here before. Good luck—I once had this problem, and the dealer said Bosch sensors don't work well in this model. Note: 5.7L 03 Hemi engine.

ign. coil, check with digital ohm meter, unplug primary wires, ohms across terminals should be not much, then unplug secondary, put one lead of ohm meter inside, should be below 10,000 if o2 sen. good....coils can go bad.

Verify the circuit and electrical connections to the O2 sensor on Bank 1, Sensor 1 for proper voltage and ground signals. Do you have an OBD-II scanner to monitor real-time O2 sensor readings?
