P0704 Fault in 1996 Chevrolet K1500 5.7L with Manual Transmission After Swap

I'm still receiving a P0704 code after installing a manual transmission. The ECM was reprogrammed to match the 1996 model with a manual transmission, but I never connected the clutch input switch. I only installed one wire — the one for starting — and ran it from the neutral safety switch located on the side of the manual transmission.
Switched from automatic to manual transmission — is that correct? Did you replace the Powertrain Control Module (PCM)? I suspect there might be additional transmission-related codes. Anyway, the clutch input switch is normally closed (NC) — are there 12V readings on both sides? Just curious — why does this matter?
