2007 Jeep Wrangler P0038 Code Persisting After OEM Sensor Replacement
I own a 2007 Jeep Wrangler and recently encountered the P0038 diagnostic trouble code. I replaced the oxygen sensor with a brand-new OEM part from Jeep, ensuring all wiring connections were secure and free of damage prior to installation. Before reinstallation, I verified that no wires were frayed or disconnected. The replacement was completed correctly, and I performed a drive cycle to confirm the ECM had recognized the new component. However, the P0038 code remains active on the engine control module (ECM). Notably, my vehicle's ECM was replaced prior to this sensor installation, so it is a brand-new unit with no known history of faults. Given that the code persists, I suspect an issue may be related to the catalytic converter or its associated circuitry. While I have some understanding of the underlying system, I don't have access to advanced diagnostic tools at the moment and am unable to conduct further testing. Does anyone else have experience with this P0038 code in a 2007 Jeep Wrangler? Any insights or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated to help resolve this issue promptly.
Could you please share the voltage reading you obtained on the heater circuit of the oxygen sensor?
