My 2006 Ford Escape 3.0L is running roughly with a loss of power. After replacing the camshaft position sensor (P0340 code) and clearing the codes, the vehicle still runs poorly with knocking sounds. New error codes appeared: P0106 (MAP sensor fault), P2197 (O2 sensor stuck lean on Bank 2 Sensor 1), and P1336 (crankshaft/camshaft position sensor issue). I'm concerned whether this indicates a need to replace the crankshaft position sensor as well. If so, where is it located in the engine compartment? The original camshaft sensor replacement did not resolve the problem, and diagnostics show multiple related issues. Could these codes be linked or indicate a deeper mechanical or electrical fault?

Error codes do NOT automatically require part replacements. For P0340, refer to OBD-II code database: https://www.obd-codes.com/p0340. The key term is 'CIRCUIT' — this may indicate a wiring issue or faulty signal rather than a sensor failure. Check for intermittent connections or corrosion in the harness.

I performed continuity testing on both wires from the camshaft sensor plug all the way to the back bulkhead connector. No open circuits were found. Wiring and connectors appear intact. The P0340 code persists, suggesting either a faulty sensor or an underlying issue with the engine control module (ECM) or related components.
