2005 Ford Expedition 5.4L Engine P0345 and P0349 Codes Reappear After Reset - How to Test Camshaft Sensor Circuit Continuity?

Model: 05 Expedition 5.4 Fault Code: P0345 Posted: 2015-11-25 16:44

My 2005 Ford Expedition with a 5.4L V8 engine is showing persistent OBD2 fault codes P0345 and P0349. I've already replaced both the alternator and camshaft position sensors, and cleared the codes using a scan tool. However, the codes return on every second start-up. After multiple resets, the issue persists only until the next startup. I'm now considering testing continuity between the camshaft sensor connectors and the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Can someone confirm which specific pin numbers on the sensor harness connect to the PCM? What is the recommended procedure for verifying electrical continuity in this circuit?

Hi, did you find a solution to this issue? I'm experiencing exactly the same problem with my 2005 Ford Expedition. I'm currently checking the wiring harness pinout for connection to the PCM. If you've already identified the correct pins or have a diagram, please share—I'd be happy to post it for reference.

I'm seeing P0430 on my vehicle—different code but related to emissions system issues. Not directly relevant here, but good to note in case of broader diagnostic concerns.
