P0301 Fault Reappearing Weekly in 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi - Ongoing Engine Misfire Issue

Model: 05 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi Fault Code: P0301 Posted: 2015-11-17 19:19

I own a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.7L Hemi engine and have been experiencing recurring P0301 fault codes every week. Despite having had the truck professionally serviced multiple times—replacing two spark plugs, one coil pack, a fuel regulator, and two fuel pumps (one from O'Reilly's and one provided at no cost by Dodge)—the issue persists. After each repair, I notice intermittent hesitation when starting the vehicle (not always), and I occasionally detect a strong fuel smell right after ignition. The truck runs smoothly under normal conditions, but the engine light keeps returning. This cycle has become extremely frustrating, especially considering how frequently I'm being taken to the shop. I'm seeking advice on what other potential causes or diagnostic steps might resolve this persistent P0301 code and prevent recurring issues. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

A qualified technician should be able to diagnose and resolve this issue—using a professional scan tool to access live data is essential. Always ensure the technician is aware of any modifications or aftermarket parts installed in the vehicle. PS: The Check Engine Light (CEL) is not just a warning—it's actively signaling that something is wrong, so it must be taken seriously.
