2004 Kia Spectra 1.8L P0336 Crankshaft Position Sensor Code Returns After Replacement - Engine Stalls on Acceleration

Model: 04 Kia Spectra 1.8L Fault Code: P0336 Posted: 2016-05-03 11:25

I recently replaced the transmission in my 2004 Kia Spectra 1.8L DOHC engine. Shortly after, the vehicle triggered a P0336 crankshaft position sensor fault code. I replaced the sensor twice with two new units (the second replacement due to concerns about part quality), but the code persists. Every time I apply throttle, the engine stalls. The car runs smoothly at idle but fails to accelerate properly. What could be causing this issue? Any insights or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.

I suspect that during the transmission installation, the transmission may have impacted the crankshaft position sensor plate, triggering a false fault code. If the sensor is located between the engine and transmission, this mechanical interference could be the root cause. Please verify alignment and ensure no physical damage occurred during assembly.
