Warms my heart.

VitaminPb 2026-03-13 21:11

But not your popcorn.

gringovato 2026-03-13 21:12

So dead, even the roaches are protesting.

Computers_and_cats 2026-03-13 21:20

Even Spirit Halloween wouldn't touch that place I bet.

vietomatic 2026-03-13 21:21

$40 cheeseburger lunch

BringBackUsenet 2026-03-13 21:26

It's almost as fugly as a Cybertruck.

Shag1166 2026-03-13 21:36

Charging poats are full, but I never see anyone going in and out of the restaurant.

If this is true, this is beyond bootlicker behavior. Holy fucking shit.

Roadgoddess 2026-03-13 21:50

I still feel really sorry for the people who’s Apartments backed onto it that they built one of the big screens in front of. Completely blocked out all sunlight into their units.

iIdentifyasGrinch 2026-03-13 21:51

I have trouble justifying a $40 steak, NVM a burger. But it's front & center in Hollywood, so charge what the market will bear, I guess. Just surprised there aren't any tent encampments in the parking lot yet

mrbuttsavage 2026-03-13 21:53

It's literally 4 blocks from an In n Out to have a worse, more expensive, Nazified experience.

mrbuttsavage 2026-03-13 21:54

For charging or eating? This is about the restaurant.

Compducer 2026-03-13 21:55

You’re so full of shit lmao I live around the corner and the charging stations are full but it’s never “packed to the brim” inside 😂 It’s usually mostly empty inside the restaurant

ionizing_chicanery 2026-03-13 21:57

Like so much of what Elon does this diner as an absolutely enormous waste of electricity.

Automatic_Soil9814 2026-03-13 22:03

I think it looks cool. Nothing else is cool about it. But it looks interesting

banditcleaner2 2026-03-13 22:06

Where I live you can make a $40 filet mignon dinner for two if you buy at the grocery store. Crazy to think just a burger meal for one pizza would be so much at this shitty diner

Aargau 2026-03-13 22:07

Can you provide evidence you come there every night to charge?

OutsideMenu6973 2026-03-13 22:28

Went during opening and a few weeks ago. It’s not dead after dark. Maybe during the day.

ewan82 2026-03-13 22:32

lol - even the robot has lost interest and left

vietomatic 2026-03-13 22:49

It's true that Tesla always overestimates range, but to have to charge every single night is beyond ludicrous

PossibleCash6092 2026-03-13 22:54

$1

Itchy-Throat-4779 2026-03-13 22:59

Good

drdeadringer 2026-03-13 23:09

Prophets have not skyrocketed. diner no longer scheduled to land on Mars.

drdeadringer 2026-03-13 23:10

The bacon is not a heart stopper. The fried eggs do not symbolize their brain on drugs.

phillyphilly19 2026-03-13 23:17

As dead as his cold, dark soul.

mrpopenfresh 2026-03-13 23:34

Why didn’t he subsidize the meal? It was a marketing stunt after all.

beatnikhippi 2026-03-13 23:44

God, you people sure know how to dilute language with hyperbole.

ClassicT4 2026-03-14 00:16

In this economy?

Lacrewpandora 2026-03-14 00:23

You didn't need Ms. Cleo to predict this would happen.

NiceWeather4Leather 2026-03-14 00:30

Imagine if instead of a diner, there were more charging stations. Which would be a better use of the space?

Other_Sample_3709 2026-03-14 00:40

And space. And materials. Come to think of it, I find that Mr. Musk is probably one of the most wasteful beings on this planet in terms of resources we as a species have allowed him to grab. I look forward to the day.

Engunnear 2026-03-14 00:48

Hookers and blow aren’t as popular at lunchtime, either.

Boxer_the_horse 2026-03-14 00:52

Article said that the lot was fairly full, but inside the building, it was dead.

eltron 2026-03-14 01:13

I fell to my knees when I read that.

RosieDear 2026-03-14 01:13

Another roaring success. I tell ya - the guy has the Midas Touch. Maybe now he can get more than the 1% of US Solar Market he racked up....

RosieDear 2026-03-14 01:14

Instead they are maybe gonna try to make it where Von Braun made it to 70 years back. Maybe. Kind of makes sense....as those were the daze of Diners.

RosieDear 2026-03-14 01:15

California Psychics guarantees your satisfaction.

RosieDear 2026-03-14 01:17

I'd wonder about the bacon grease, tho. Is it really from Pigs? Or is it related to Soylent Green? Maybe his new innovation is a much more efficient way to....increase the % of his species.

Clarpydarpy 2026-03-14 01:49

Elon Musk is an enthusiastic Nazi

JiminyDickish 2026-03-14 01:52

AfD party in Germany is literally the modern day Nazi party and Musk openly funds them.

Fuzzy_Inevitable9748 2026-03-14 02:08

The same reason Elons teachers kept asking if he was retarded.

foersom 2026-03-14 02:25

It served it's purpose. It was a stock holder meeting distraction.

Engunnear 2026-03-14 02:43

Just the cockles or the whole thing?

Freudinatress 2026-03-14 02:54

The pic from the front looks like something from Fallout. And I love that game. I would happily snap a pic or two if I came by. I just wouldn’t eat there lol.

btwyn 2026-03-14 03:14

West Hollywood - WeHo with the locals

MayContainRawNuts 2026-03-14 04:48

It is not hyperbolic to call the guy who did a nazi salute on stage, twice, who actively supports a nazi party in germany - a nazi.

NotFromMilkyWay 2026-03-14 06:26

$40 for a burger menu? ,LOL.

Numerous-Match-1713 2026-03-14 07:12

So epic bacon not so epic anymore I take it?

Gildardo1583 2026-03-14 07:41

uff,,,

PLTR60 2026-03-14 08:10

Nothing of value was lost

BlacksmithNZ 2026-03-14 08:58

Aren't the robots supposed to be the next big thing for Tesla? If they can't work in a fixed location designed for them, that seems rather underwhelming

ewan82 2026-03-14 09:36

I dont think it was working very well. Youtube clips show it spilling pop corn everywhere. Maybe it got fired.

Withnail2019 2026-03-14 09:46

They arent robots, they are human operated puppets.

Withnail2019 2026-03-14 09:47

You're lunching with the wrong people

gitflapper 2026-03-14 09:58

people come up to me .. big handsome men with tear in their eyes … and say ‘sir’ , you know the most about hyperbole than any one ever born . …

BlacksmithNZ 2026-03-14 10:04

I know about tele operation of the Tesla bots at events But robots have been working in industrial fixed locations for decades. If they can't make a robot fill popcorn bags reliably then that suggests they are very away from even the most basic useful tasks

unNecessary_Skin 2026-03-14 11:01

Upvote but that site is cancer to read, couldn't finish it because of adds

Pancheel 2026-03-14 11:51

Because it would attract poor customers, ew. The clients are supposed to be rich tech bros and tourists.

Accomplished_Goat439 2026-03-14 12:43

You mean the Nazi diner?

Withnail2019 2026-03-14 13:19

>If they can't make a robot fill popcorn bags reliably Without in any way supporting Elon that's a lot harder than it sounds. It's nothing like the role of a robot in a factory.

No-Manufacturer-3315 2026-03-14 15:08

Not nazis eat there

Crafty-Alfalfa5298 2026-03-14 17:09

Ew, gross 🤮

b0bx13 2026-03-14 19:17

Awww did they say mean things about your favorite pedophile? 🥺

Engunnear 2026-03-14 20:44

The implication was less, not zero.

BlacksmithNZ 2026-03-14 20:45

I work in IT, and familar with tasks that look easy from the outside being much harder in practice. Worked on vending machines including one that picked up individual ice creams from a freezer and real world is hard. But it is like a factory robot, in that you have control of the environment which you can build to suit the robot. You can exclude people/animals and other irregular/unexpected issues, design the inputs and outputs to be relatively consistent, and you don't need total flexibility which is the main thing that humanoid robots are in theory offering. Tesla are are trying to sell large numbers of robots into the mass market; a humanoid robot walking into a house and *safely* , reliably and economical being able to fold clothes, do the washing up etc, is another order or two magnitude harder than having a robot stand in an enclosure filling bags

nah_champa_967 2026-03-15 00:02

Oh wow another thing Musk was wrong about.

gwestr 2026-03-15 00:27

American History X diner? Shocker.

Withnail2019 2026-03-15 05:38

>But it is like a factory robot, in that you have control of the environment which you can build to suit the robot It isnt, you're not dealing with identical situations again and again like welding a car body, you're dealing with loose popcorn. How do you stop it spilling it all over the place?

neonmantis 2026-03-15 07:20

It's funny that multiple YouTubers have managed to successfully enter the Fast Food space, on a big scale too, with Beast Burgers and Prime but entrepreneur genius can't even do a single cafe

BlacksmithNZ 2026-03-15 08:11

Car parts might also vary slightly, paint/grease drips etc. Pick & place machines for PCB still have lots of testing done as nothing is perfect Well design machines/robot (and there are lots in the food & packaging industrial) dealing with things like potato chips that vary a lot, and with dust & flavors etc; using simple vacuum and randomized shaker mechs etc Point is that this still an order of magnitude easier than a machine walking around your house trying to find and open the packet of popcorn in the first place And Tesla valuations are in part as Elon has promised lots of robot sales to help around the house.
