lol. As a former employee I can attest the ingredients for thermite are readily available on the factory floor.

Been flagging this for a while now at the Gigafactory. Some conditions reported in Austin: \- improper AC in the factory (reported from folks I've met) \- death of an electrician, Victor Gomez Sr. \- furnace doors were having trouble closing. During county compliance audits, employees would jerryrig the door shut. \- water dripping on high voltage machinery (in Glassdoor reviews) \- ceiling falling on folks (same Glassdoor review) \- employees being trained on overriding safety features on heavy machinery (look, that single Glassdoor review is beefy) \- employee fired (now in litigation) for requesting to be transferred to a different area. Heat was messing with his hearing aid EDIT: Sidebar, Travis County, TX has \*not\* issued property tax rebates either to the Gigafactory. These rebates were intended to go out on Oct. 31, 2025. The reason is due to the fact Tesla has not provided compliance reports to Travis County. The terms of the property tax rebate are murky.

Of Elon's crimes, this is the worst.

Is osha doing anything about it?

Nitewyng 2026-02-28 13:00

I can't speak for that factory, but I've seen safety never being a priority and they would definitely fire someone for reporting something that would cost them money.

mghollan 2026-02-28 15:08

Probably not until someone gets hurt. That's typically how they work.

__slamallama__ 2026-02-28 19:05

Huh I would have said it was the election interference but I guess there's an argument both ways

tangouniform2020 2026-03-01 04:39

Yeah. The joke about the murky nature of the rebates was to make them easier to claim. Ha ha, seems to be making them harder, too

tangouniform2020 2026-03-01 04:40

That was pre Trump/DOGE. Now it’s double digit deaths

DroppKneeeDeee 2026-03-01 18:55

Agreed. The murkiness is due primarily to the fact documents coming from public information requests around the property tax rebates have had the conditions required heavily redacted.

Kor_Phaeron_ 2026-03-02 01:20

OSHA still has staff after DOGE was done?
