Stock up. Also is that an Elon bag drop in the form4. WTF is going on w that?

th3bigfatj 2026-01-02 14:39

it's the car business that's totally dead. (Tesla has no other actual real business)

JonnyBravoII 2026-01-02 14:40

The stock is up 2 points as of right now.

meatbag2010 2026-01-02 14:41

I'm impressed it was over 400k to be honest. I've only seen a handful of year 25 ones in the UK.

Bulky_Specialist9645 2026-01-02 14:42

There is zero chance those are the correct numbers. Tesla has hundreds of cars parked in random vacant parking lots in my area.

Designer-Salary-7773 2026-01-02 14:45

Not counting the end of lease returns they are on the hook for. Or the CT’s that Spacex shilled

LynchSyndromedotmil 2026-01-02 14:45

Don’t worry, Optimus will be operational and cleaning cum from robotaxis next year so bullish

SolutionWarm6576 2026-01-02 14:45

Some of their rental contracts with companies like Hertz, are ending this year too. Will be a flood of used Tesla’s hitting the market soon.

SolutionWarm6576 2026-01-02 14:45

Another revenue stream gone.

Beezelbubba 2026-01-02 14:46

not even 12k total sales for S/X/Wankpanzer for the quarter

InjurySouthern9971 2026-01-02 14:50

I've seen only one model year 25 in Ireland. Only the stupid Quisling Norwegians are buying them.

DareDareCaro 2026-01-02 14:53

But... but... It's the year of Robotaxis

DareDareCaro 2026-01-02 14:53

And a lot of those for Space X

Fockelot 2026-01-02 14:54

LOL the stock actually popped 3% pre market this morning too 😂😂

Chokedee-bp 2026-01-02 14:54

Sales down , so Tesla stock up today?

lovely_sombrero 2026-01-02 14:55

The unexpected end of ~$5k EV tax credits in Norway really boosted Tesla sales in this Q. Even people following the EV business were surprised when it got cancelled in the middle of October. Tesla had a lot of inventory and really benefited from the sudden pull forward of demand.

Legal-Actuary4537 2026-01-02 14:57

no new models on the horizon and the 4680 battery line needs to be paid for even though it is not included in most cars. The wheels are coming off the Tesla bandwagon. They need to end production of Cybertruck, X and S and close Grünheide factory.

pollingquestion 2026-01-02 14:58

You can set your watch to it.

Difficult_Limit2718 2026-01-02 15:01

TO THE MOON AND BEYOND!

gvincejr 2026-01-02 15:05

The stock is going to jump.

Beezelbubba 2026-01-02 15:07

xAI is buying them too as no one else was buying them after production

daynightcase 2026-01-02 15:08

how can they get away with this lol stock is fully detached from reality for so long at this point

IncarceratedScarface 2026-01-02 15:09

All Elmo has to do is say next quarter will be better, or promise something new, and the stock will be up anyway lmfao.

MikeDFootball 2026-01-02 15:09

goddammit. they are a technology company, not a car company. when are they gonna get with it and stop selling cars??? total waste of time.

zedk47 2026-01-02 15:12

But but, it's a robotaxi company! What, only 5 robotaxis fully monitored? But it's an AI company!

DancesWithHoofs 2026-01-02 15:13

Once people experience FSD they’ll buy a Tesla.

Conscious-Bee-5691 2026-01-02 15:13

Maybe if it comes as a sxtoy

frackthestupids 2026-01-02 15:14

Oh, they are definitely counting the CTs SpaceX bought.

CatchUsual6591 2026-01-02 15:16

Those are bad numbers even if they are fake and is not the first time they post bad numbers and 2026 looks like a pretty bad year for tesla cars given that competition is only getting better

fastwriter- 2026-01-02 15:18

That’s why they only publish „deliveries“ not sales. Deliveries could be anything. Every car shipped over to SpaceX. Or every Demonstrator sent to Tesla Centers. It’s easy to manipulate your Data this way. But Earnings? This will be more difficult. But I expect them to try as hard to cook the books as is legally possible - maybe even beyond legality. Let’s see.

Slight_Pomelo_1008 2026-01-02 15:18

still lots of idiots buy a tesla.

richardbaxter 2026-01-02 15:23

Spinning up new companies, "selling" 1000 units, new company liquidates. Claim the revenue this year, claim the loss next. I have no idea what they're doing but selling to companies you own that is a bit fishy

OldeManKenobi 2026-01-02 15:23

Then they'll crash and burn alive inside the wreckage. What an incredible feature.

goranlepuz 2026-01-02 15:24

>After its design debut, Tesla boasted about more than 1 million reservations flooding in for the Cybertruck. The angular, steel pickup has *yet to be a best seller* for the company. This guy is taking the piss, isn't he?! 😂😂😂

neliz 2026-01-02 15:24

I want to downvote you so hard, but I'm sure it was sarcastic

goranlepuz 2026-01-02 15:26

😂😂😂 "Random vacant parking slots in my area are representative of global sales of a large multinational". I am all for dumping on Tesla, but not only!

JRLDH 2026-01-02 15:26

Hahaha it was the exact opposite for me. I don't do business with habitual liars and your silly FSD is still just a fancy Level 2 ADAS and it will NEVER be more in your car.

Ok_Elevator_832 2026-01-02 15:29

I thought they were a restaurant company?

[deleted] 2026-01-02 15:30

What makes this funny. That Elon's other companies have been purchasing Tesla Cybersucks. And still, their overall sale are down.

MikeDFootball 2026-01-02 15:33

NOOOOO. they make some sort of sex robot! I am sure of it. Elon promised me.

ATLCoyote 2026-01-02 15:46

Global EV sales grew by about 30% in 2025 while Tesla's sales shrunk.

ATLCoyote 2026-01-02 15:46

Apparently, we're not supposed to care that Tesla is going to shit because they are making a bit bet on AI and robotics.

cablemigrant 2026-01-02 15:48

Stock completely detached from reality

AerobicProgressive 2026-01-02 15:54

Almost like it's the most blatant stock manipulation seen in recent history

dreadthripper 2026-01-02 15:56

It's interesting how few sales they get from their higher end models.

rbetterkids 2026-01-02 16:00

I remember reading somewhere that when tesla ships for example, 30,000 vehicles to a country, they count that as 30,000 in sales even though those vehicles end up sitting on a lot.

whatyouwant5 2026-01-02 16:01

And Grok is making CSAM now. Almost like someone should be held accountable for it...

sync-centre 2026-01-02 16:02

XAI will buy tesla next. Let the shell game of investor money continue

FlagFootballSaint 2026-01-02 16:08

It‘s now the #2 BEV company in the world. Let‘s see if they come in #3 after 2026

FlagFootballSaint 2026-01-02 16:09

„delivered“ is the key here

fatbunyip 2026-01-02 16:13

It's because it's not a car company it's a tech company!  Or a robot company.  Or maybe a power company.  Or a taxi company.  Who knows? Numbers are just woke.

Time-Entertainer-105 2026-01-02 16:26

the crash will be historic. it's not a surprise Elon got into politics.

techie182 2026-01-02 16:28

Shipped and parked doesn't mean it's sold. Its marketing /PR term. Samsung does this every year. They will say how many units SHIPPED and not sold. In the mean while their competitor Apple will say how many units SOLD.

Actual__Wizard 2026-01-02 16:40

It's insider trading that causes that. There's people that have inside information that are playing games with the shares and that's why every single time one would expect Tesla stock to go down it's going up. It's just flagrant market manipulation. How many years are they going to engage in stuff like that and nobody does anything? We all know that there's something incredibly weird about that stock, but it's not going to be looked into. It makes absolutely no sense, we're watching the total opposite of a sane market, and nobody thinks "oh, hey that's flagrant evidence of insider trading in plain sight, so let's go figure out who's doing it and then go arrest them for their crimes." Nope, it's just been going on in plain sight for years.

FarFromHomey 2026-01-02 16:41

WHY are people supporting a White Supremacist Billionaire? Boycott that Nazi Bitch!

torokunai 2026-01-02 16:42

And they lost significant support for the 3/Y after OBBB. (I got $10,500 govt money for my 2023 Y purchase) With China going electric, gas should stay cheap this decade, too. FSD or bust basically…

LightMission4937 2026-01-02 16:44

So less than half that since it's "Tesla reports".

torokunai 2026-01-02 16:44

Eh it’s a decent BEV for the money. Or at least was, when Elon was discounting them and govt $$$$ was available (I got my 2023 Model Y AWD for $40k OTD)

wickedlittlemiss 2026-01-02 16:53

Now this is a great revenue idea. Two rides for the price of one. 💡

And Rivian delivered 42,247 vehicles in the entire year of 2025.

Throwaways0004 2026-01-02 17:11

Probably with an extra zero on the end

mishap1 2026-01-02 17:13

The whistleblower claimed they would book service calls as deliveries in the past. [https://www.cnbc.com/2023/10/12/tesla-whistleblowers-filed-complaint-to-sec-in-2021-what-it-said.html](https://www.cnbc.com/2023/10/12/tesla-whistleblowers-filed-complaint-to-sec-in-2021-what-it-said.html) Keep an eye on China. Their registrations are from an external source. If they're down, Tesla's definitely down bigger than they claim.

EarlOfNothingness 2026-01-02 17:25

Good

BigMax 2026-01-02 17:35

In fairness, a quick search says they sell maybe 1.6 million cars a year (varies year to year of course.) 16% down means like 260,000 unsold cars if they produced the same amount. So.. that would result in a LOT of parking lots stuffed with unsold cars. They don't have to drop 50% or anything to result in a glut of cars sitting around.

ExcitingMeet2443 2026-01-02 17:40

One Optimus robot can only drive ¹one Cybertruck at a time. ¹until it breaks down, then it can drive another one.

mishap1 2026-01-02 17:44

Wouldn't surprise me if they're doing some shady tactics to hide vehicles. They have plenty of capital and ways to fuck around with their reporting. Previously they'd make tons of loaner cars and then put it on the used market with like 100 miles. You still find more than a few delivery miles cars for sale on Autotrader. Who in their right mind would buy a brand new Model Y and then trade it in to a 3rd party dealer with 16 miles on it?

Sticka-D 2026-01-02 17:49

Who the hell is buying nazi death traps?

dtyamada 2026-01-02 17:52

More room for growth! Or it's not down as much for the year as peppe expected! They can find many ways to put a positive spin on it 🤦‍♂️

Regrets_Tourettes 2026-01-02 18:02

Tesla isn’t a car company so car sales don’t matter?

SpectrumWoes 2026-01-02 18:03

No you knob, it’s a *robotics* company. What, no robots sold yet? That’s besides the point!

stevehyman1 2026-01-02 18:15

How many of those were cyberjunks that SpaceX “bought” from Tesla?

boofles1 2026-01-02 18:20

You might call it an Optimustic position.

boofles1 2026-01-02 18:20

They are, they doubled their sales of CT/S/X somehow.

Olderpostie 2026-01-02 18:31

I don't know the car count, but there are about four acres of Teslas parked at the port of Southhampton in England. Certainly upward of a couple of thousand.

FrogmanKouki 2026-01-02 18:42

And recall them in the 10,000's

FlipZip69 2026-01-02 18:50

That the thing about after hour trading. It could be one share at a high price.

FlipZip69 2026-01-02 18:53

Tesla always does a heavy push on the last quarter of each year. They typically have even worse in Q1 and Q2.

FlipZip69 2026-01-02 18:56

Norway is a pretty small country though. And one of the only countries that side of the world that seen growth with Tesla. Countries with 10 times the population seen 30-40 percent declines.

FlipZip69 2026-01-02 18:57

Pre market means nothing. I wish people would stop posting those. You can have a single share sold at that time and that is the last price.

FlipZip69 2026-01-02 18:59

Tesla will buy Xai with certainty. Xai is mainly Musk and holds the 40 billion dollar twitter purchase now. Musk will sell it for the majority of the money Tesla has along with a block of shares. The number being thrown around is 200 billion dollars. It is worth maybe 20 billion.

Row-Maleficent 2026-01-02 19:12

I have seen a surprising number of refreshed MYs in Ireland. I'm always trying to see who the demographic is that is so detached from world events. My sample space is too small, but it's exactly what you might suspect 😃

Outrageous_Koala5381 2026-01-02 19:15

What's crazy is they have capacity of over 3m vehicles a year - so are running at only 50% capacity! Just read through their annual reports. China factory is capable of 1m cars alone! Remember 1-2 years ago when Elon cancelled building next Tesla factory in India - seems a smart move given he went mad supporting Trump and cratered his own sales! Tesla now actually needs self-driving to succeed to use up 3+Y manufacturing capacity! This was after a refresh of 3 + Y AND the lower cost Y - which is a Y with the glass covered in fabric + no screens + less range! Tesla has fallen from 3% of new European car sales to be about 1.2% - it's a terrible number! And BYD up 240% - people getting EVs are looking elsewhere. I have friends I play football with, nobody will buy an EV, and all of my friends wives hate Elon Musk! Friend wanted an EV and his wife won't let him buy one! He wanted one, test drove one. That's how MAD people think he is - he's poisoned the brand so bad!!! Even worse, all model S, X, Cybertruck and anything not Y or 3 adds up to only 50k cars sold in a YEAR!!! Elon claimed 1m registrations for Cybertruck ! Most car companies are on a P/E ratio of 5:1 or 10:1 with flat sales, Tesla has falling car sales and runs at a P/E of 300:1. Given the falling incentives AND falling sales AND removal of gov incentives where other companies pay Tesla to make EVs while they make petrol... well Tesla might actually report a quarterly financial loss!

lovely_sombrero 2026-01-02 19:17

The combination of SpaceX and xAI buying Teslas and the surge in Norway is probably what got them above ~405k.

tomdurk 2026-01-02 19:23

Does that include the IncEL Caminos FElon bought for SpaceX?

sleeplessinseaatl 2026-01-02 19:23

Stock is down significantly today

Street_Barracuda1657 2026-01-02 19:29

Correction, only one person can remotely control one Optimus robot, who can control one Cybertruck at a time.

Yugo sold a lot of cars too…

FlipZip69 2026-01-02 19:48

SpaceX is never buying Tesla. Neither is xAI. Neither have even close to the money to buy a 1.5 trillion dollar company. Tesla will likely buy xAI/Twitter. Musk said as much when he shut down Tesla AI and started up xAI then mentioned Tesla needs to have an AI company. In what world do you think anyone would buy Tesla at that price when it makes less money than Ford and has half the sales. And is seeing declining sales no less.

GlumExternal 2026-01-02 19:52

Buying Tesla cars, not the Tesla company

FlipZip69 2026-01-02 19:57

ChollyWheels 2026-01-02 20:22

You bashers are so hopelessly behind the times -- stuck in a reality-based analysis, which is passe'. Get with the program! Problem is, mere mortals don't have the bandwidth to appreciate Musk's genius. HE HAS A PLAN -- it all fits together! Soon you can benefit from a brain-implant neuro-chip to summon your own Optimus. You won't need to drive your Tesla -- it will drive itself whether you're in it, or not -- and thanks to your brain chip you won't care where you are. And that's not all... soon: \- AI will enable Full Self Twitter. No need to Tweet anymore -- AI will Tweet for you! Also no need to read Twitter (there never really was). AI will summarize the AI generated responses \- Cybertrucks will run in Boring Company tunnels. THAT'S WHY YOU DON'T SEE THEM! \- A big thing people don't get about the space project -- they thought (mistakenly) putting a Roadster in space (happened in 2018) was some kind of silly rich boy stunt. Soon Roadsters will be space worthy (Elon gave big hints of this recently on Rogan). Cybertrucks too! The only problem I see is redundancy. No need to have Optimus drive your Tesla car if the car can drive itself. And if Optimus already knows everything you need, is there really a point in a neurolink method for voiceless commanding the Optimus? Naturally with the optional sexbot add-ons, Optimus may be a threat to actual future childbirth (we'll all be too busy having AI write love-poems to our bots to have actual human sex), but I suspect the next big Musk venture will be tank-bred babies. Did you think the "Borg" were just fiction?

ILikeCatsAndSquids 2026-01-02 20:32

It's a taxi company but no one wants to buy the cars? That tracks.

daveo18 2026-01-02 21:05

Well being Tesla, a lot of these were probably purchased by existing owners. A lot of them love to gloat they’re on their third or fourth Tesla, for saving the planet or whatever.

henrik_se 2026-01-02 22:25

I don't think you should be downvoted, because what you said is exactly why people are buying them. They are the cheap EV. The budget EV. The stripped-down bare-bones EV that has decent range for its price. There's a ton of competition that has much better cars, better built, better quality, better interior, better range, better performance, but they're all also more expensive. And there's a significant chunk of consumers who care only about the price. BYD, who overtook Tesla this year in global EV sales, are winning because their cars are comparable and cheaper.

torokunai 2026-01-02 22:37

I'm a massive BEV fan and thus far TSLA doesn't have a lot of competition in the US, partially because the Chinese are excluded and partially because the legacy makers haven't gotten their acts together. As far as BEVs go, the GOP last year just kneeballed them of course, and also gave ICE another lease on life by zeroing CAFE compliance costs. https://fred.stlouisfed.org/graph/?g=1PIA0 is US gas prices in real terms (hourly wage required to buy 1 gallon), showing the LEAF and Model S window (2011-2015) was good timing for new BEV but gas is 2X cheaper now than then and with China aggressively electrifying gas prices may just stay this cheap for a while, or even go down to 1990s levels. I pay 3c/kWh (~$0.20/GGE) to charge thanks to home solar but everybody who could get that deal already has it I bet so the easy money has been made for Tesla.

Tessler is all computer!

hibikir_40k 2026-01-02 23:41

Each one of those cars will be worth 20 trillion dollars after the AI-powered self-driving spaceship update is released. You will be able to go to Mars with those babies without paying an extra dime!

henrik_se 2026-01-02 23:56

It's kinda ironic that Tesla has its strongest grip on the US market, while the US was one of the few countries where EV sales dropped last year, for a bunch of reasons, but mostly because the Orange one and his ilk are paid by the oil lobby. And in the rest of the world, where EVs are gaining, Tesla's marketshare is dropping. Yes. Tesla is the most valuable car maker in the world. Clearly. Absolutely no shenanigans involved with their valuation, nuh-uh!

rockclimberguy 2026-01-03 00:01

Icy-person666 2026-01-03 01:24

That was the plan, now they can buy cheap and pump up the stock like Elon's Ego.

ScoobyGDSTi 2026-01-03 02:48

And the US government blocked all foreign competition. 👍

THB I trust these numbers as much as this Admin's BLS numbers...

Glathull 2026-01-03 03:49

And that negative 16% includes all the cybertruck Musk bought with SpaceX, right? So if you factor out the shenanigans, the real number is much much worse. Obviously, the stock price will triple.

Little-Bad-8474 2026-01-03 03:51

Still way too many fascist funders out there.

Wouldn't be surprised if Tesla created these subsidiaries in each country to act like they're a company not related to Tesla.

I love this. I am stealing it

ponewood 2026-01-03 04:57

People will like the cars a lot better if they don’t actually have to drive them

edgarapplepoe 2026-01-03 05:53

Ya my local one finally got rid of their cyber trucks (I'm assuming shipped to SpaceX or something, they had 36 sitting on the lot for over a year and then magically almoat all gone in 2 weeks). In the last few months the number of tesla cars has grown about 70+.

I'm Norwegian and Tesla still has a strong fan base in Norway. Many of them are ignorant and choose to ignore the antics of Elon. Especially in the investor sphere there are a lot of die hard fans. They will probably go down with the ship - if Tesla starts to show cracks.

CautiousCarry4209 2026-01-03 11:26

Who in their right mind will let Elon Musk plant a chip in your brain? Very few people will... in other words sales will be close to zero..

alienical 2026-01-03 11:32

Nought wrong with ours, or the car. So in this case, you are wrong

ChollyWheels 2026-01-03 11:37

Will it become a fashion item -- to speed up unlocking the door to your Tesla by thought alone? To upload modules to learn French overnight? No... or, rather, less likely than the chance the new Roadster will be space-travel ready. But if I might be serious for a moment... the answer depends on how unhealthy or disabled a person is. Forgetting Elon, for a moment, brain implants are potentially useful to people disabled, and with various brain injuries. The more damaged a person is, the more taking a chance may seem worthwhile. There are at least 3 other companies (competitors of Musk) who might be trusted first.

FrogmanKouki 2026-01-03 12:25

Not wrong - Tesla recalled 10,000 Powerwalls so yours might be okay but doesn't change the fact https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2026/Tesla-Recalls-Powerwall-2-AC-Battery-Power-Systems-Due-to-Fire-and-Burn-Hazards-Risk-of-Serious-Injury-or-Death

Lights out Elmo. Last Friday TSLA plunged to 438.07. About 3 weeks ago, I sold $50k I’ve been sitting on for 4+ years at 488. I got out before they pulled the plug on this one.

hashswag00 2026-01-03 15:36

TIL 418,227 people were selfish picks in Q4 and are not doing their part.

probdying82 2026-01-03 15:42

It’s wayyyyyyy worse than this. They sold so many cars to themselves over at little dick rockets inq that it boosted the numbers. I promise you that it’s a shit storm at Tesla for sales this last year after his Nazi salute. Ppl don’t want Nazi cars

OldMannArtie 2026-01-03 16:30

Should be down a lot more than that. Too many people aren't using any sort of morals when choosing a car.

torokunai 2026-01-04 03:02

if the tide goes out on NASDAQ this year (i.e. like 2022) TSLA will collapse to ~50 P/E again . . . even the gamma plays can't fight that tape.

DistributedView 2026-01-04 08:29

"FINANCIALLY delivered" (A term Tesla invented.) I don't think it's ever been fully explained, but I suspect that financially means an accounting entry has been made relative to the VIN of the car. This would be true if you make your wholly owned overseas subsidiaries raise purchase orders for manufactured cars that were not yet shipped. Certainly it looks like the way Tesla UK works (from looking at their filed accounts) is that Tesla UK buy the cars at wholesale from Tesla corporate, they take their mark up, then pay a "brand licensing fee" to Tesla BV (Netherlands).

Hilda_aka_Math 2026-01-05 00:43

i wonder how many of those deliveries were the cybertrucks stacked outside the spaceX headquarters.

EarthConservation 2026-01-05 05:42

Tesla's total inventory (calculated by adding up the end of year inventory going back to 2022) is now back up to 95,919 units, from 77381 units at the end of 2024. This is considering that their total annual production declined by 120,000 units y/y (6.7%), with a decline of 25,000 units in Q4 y/y (5.4%). That includes a decline of "Other Models" production (Model S/X and CT) of about 40,000 units in 2025 (43%), with Q4 "Other Model" production nearly halved, from 22,700 in Q4 '24 to 11,700 in Q4 '25. Versus '23, their total production was down 190,000 units for the year (10.3%). The 11,642 'Other Model" deliveries in Q4, less than 50% of Q4 '24, is even crazier when you consider that SpaceX bought over 1000 CTs in Q4, and xAI bought an undisclosed number. Also, deliveries for the CT started in South Korea in Q4, and the company started sales of them in the middle east in 2025. Turrible. I imagine their total production in '26 will decline further (or best case stagnate), which means the best they could do in terms of annual sales is 1.75 million if they sold every vehicle they produced and 1of their inventory. Funny when you consider the huge vehicle sales growth guidance that Musk/Tesla continuously reiterated between early 2021 and late 2023 to boost their stock value. They claimed a 50% CAGR (Compound annual growth rate) in vehicle sales between 2020 and 2030, starting with 500,000 sales in 2020 and ending with 20 million per year by 2030. To have maintained 50%, they would have needed to sell 3.8 million vehicles in '25. They sold only 1.636 million, 43% of what they guided. To maintain their guidance, they would have needed to sell an additional 2.16 million vehicles in '25. The actual CAGR they've achieved has only been 26.7%. This will worsen to below 22% if they sell equal or fewer vehicles in '26 than they did in '25. Q4 will likely see a steep reduction in gross vehicle margins on account of Q4 including sales of the new lower priced "Standard" models, which generate less revenue and lower margins than the "Premium" models, and because they were discounting inventory and offering financing deals all quarter. In 2025, Tesla had 3 quarters of US federal tax credits to help prop them up, along with the ZEV credit sales to boost their financials. They'll have zero quarters of US federal tax credits in '26, and no ZEV credit income. This should result in a decline in sales in the US y/y, and a steep decline in quarterly / annual profits. Battery storage sales are the only bright spot in Tesla's quarterly performance... which is interesting because no one seems to know where all of this battery storage capacity is being installed. Look it up for yourselves. Large battery storage facilities are generally reported in the media... whether it's the announcement of a new large scale project, or an announcement of a project going live. It's difficult enough to find stories of large scale Tesla storage projects totaling 2-3 GWh per quarter, much less the 10+ GWh that Tesla's reported every single quarter in 2025. As I've pointed out many times before, on account that Tesla locks themselves into massive contracts with their battery cell suppliers, and given that they don't want huge multi-GWh inventories of unsold cells laying around in their warehouses and on their financials (potentially billions of dollars worth), they have a policy to offload their excess cell inventory through battery storage products. They will undercut all competitors to ensure they win every storage contract to guarantee they can offload their excess cell inventory. As a result, larger deployment numbers may come with the side effect of significantly reduced margins on their storage products. This is made worse due to new competition in the sector. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ I was suggesting Tesla's annual delivery numbers would decline to around these levels at the start of 2025, after noticing declines in Q4 '24 production and delivery numbers and the headwinds that were facing the company in '25. Given a continued increase in competition, and the loss of tax credits in the US and other nations for the full year, along with a potential weakening of the global economy, Tesla's sales could easily continue trending downwards in 2026. Tesla used to boost their CAGR by opening their vehicles to new markets while there was little if any competition, but it seems Tesla has already saturated most of the world's major new vehicle markets, and competitors are now entering those markets as well.

EarthConservation 2026-01-05 06:05

As I've constantly reiterated over the past few months, Tesla's vehicle and energy business likely only account for about 5% of Tesla's total market cap. Their real financial performance has continuously worsened over time, yet the stock value has continuously increased. Tesla's forward PE Ratio is currently sitting around 210... an astronomical level, which would suggest a massive rate of earnings growth; but Tesla's earnings aren't growing and haven't been growing since 2023. The hyperinflated share price is partly based on vaporware promises (that Musk has repeatedly failed to deliver on), but primarily due to simple market dynamics and Tesla's overweighting in index funds and tech funds combined with a low amount of active stock sellers. Their market cap is being pushed higher for the simple reason that their market cap is already high, which gives them higher weighting in index funds. With vast amounts of money being pushed into tech and index funds, it leads to a continuous flow of Tesla stock purchases. Since a lot of Tesla investors are the buy and hold forever folks, locked in due to the unfulfilled vaporware promises claiming to making those shareholders gajillionaires "in just one year", there are fewer actively traded shares, so index stock purchases end up pushing the stock price up more, resulting in automated re-weighting, and additional automatic Tesla stock purchases by these funds. The whole thing is a house of cards that works the same way in reverse. If there's ever a large amount of money pulled out of index and/or tech funds, those funds will sell the a large amount of shares in the highest weighted assets. Any major market pullback will likely see Tesla stock doubling that pull back figure, like what happened in the early 2025 market pull back. The S&P 500 fell 21%, but Tesla's stock fell 56%. I imagine that institutional investors have already begun to reduce their direct Tesla stakes, selling to the funds that are consistently buying Tesla stock. However, it won't be until the entire market starts to correct that the retail bag holders will see their Tesla heavy portfolios get decimated. It'll be the institutions with the capital to buy the stock as the bag holders look to sell off their stakes, but the buy orders will be at much lower prices.

350k of those are repeated earnings from fleet sales already committed or ghosts. There is no demand for the nazimobile.
