Can this not be debunked relatively quickly?

BobbyKonker 2025-11-26 10:21

Cults don't work like that. His followers don't care about reality.

obefiend 2025-11-26 10:21

We debunked everything but it doesn't matter. Cope will make stock go up

North-Outside-5815 2025-11-26 10:22

How does nobody reality check his BS?

leandrompm 2025-11-26 10:25

Keyword: claims

There are a lot of people saying Elmo is a snake oil salesman full of shit. But nobody listens. If he is rich, he is smarter and more virtuous. Unsullied by the filth that clouds the minds of the masses. He can do no wrong, apparently.

trophyisabyproduct 2025-11-26 10:31

claim.

Robo-X 2025-11-26 10:38

Tesla has to produce more chips than for instance Apple does in their iPhone line. And I believe they sell 100 million of a chip a year? What will Tesla produce that will sell in those quantities? Cars not likely, robots they are years away from making a robot that can outperform the Russian robot from a few weeks ago.

BringBackUsenet 2025-11-26 10:39

He also claimed he's have men on Mars by 2024. Why does the media even bother to give this guy the time of day?

BringBackUsenet 2025-11-26 10:40

Journalism died decades ago, and still wasn't very responsible before that.

skyfire-x 2025-11-26 10:40

I guess the flying car didn't stick, so he's making up some new bullshit.

bazilbt 2025-11-26 10:41

How many chip fabs does Tesla have?

Yes, it can be debunked, but Leon can say whatever he wants, to pump the stock and eventually screw over shareholders by the Tesla Board, backdooring billions to him.

finniruse 2025-11-26 10:50

Elon Musk says a lot of shit

zooommsu 2025-11-26 10:52

Just the usual TSLA stock bullshit, the show must go on

noobgiraffe 2025-11-26 10:53

It's impossible. Litography machines sales for top process nodes are booked years in advance and then it takes years to build a fab. Especially for a company that never did it. If they would really want to do this timeline is like 15 years minimum to be competetive. Most likely never.

the_mooseman 2025-11-26 10:53

Less than one.

Adventurous_Term_514 2025-11-26 10:54

Elon claims a lot of things. If anything, him claiming something makes it even less likely.

EconomyDoctor3287 2025-11-26 10:54

Sure thing. Just requires a $ trillion in federal funds to make it happen xD

Low-Possibility-7060 2025-11-26 10:54

Didn’t he just kill the chip business? Or was dojo a different lie?

Status_Ad_4405 2025-11-26 10:55

He can produce them and not sell them to other companies, just like nobody else wants to buy his FSD. IBM has been making the most advanced chips since the 1960s. Does he really think he has a leg up on them? Why would anyone else?

za72 2025-11-26 10:55

You know Tesla is known for its quality

lliveevill 2025-11-26 10:57

I read his facial expression in the photo as having an overwhelming sense of self-belief, as well as being deceptive, calculating, and overall emotionally cold. It's a similar expression to the one he had when he was bowing to Trump and looking up to him at the same time.

DeepDuh 2025-11-26 10:58

Why am I hearing Steve Carrell saying this….

Normal-Selection1537 2025-11-26 10:59

Only automotive companies with their own fabs are BYD and Bosch. BYD has several and Bosch opened their first in June.

Free_Range_Lobster 2025-11-26 11:04

Can someone one of these days just tell him to shut the fuck up?

justforthelulzz 2025-11-26 11:05

Got to keep pumping that stock up with a regular Elon BS update. He has cancelled factories, made a piece of shit truck, not bothered with a low price car and still hasn't produced the roadster after nearly 10 years. Why do people keep believing him and think he is a business god

MrLyttleG 2025-11-26 11:05

Ketamine could make him less stupid... ha no, sorry, ketamine made him even more stupid. People, stop believing in clown talk with ass hair on his head and a chainsaw in his hand.

dextercho83 2025-11-26 11:05

Dear God, please let me have plenty of snacks when the stock fails. Thank you

notospez 2025-11-26 11:05

We'll have Grok design a lithography machine and have Optimus robots build it. First chips expected next year!

shiroandae 2025-11-26 11:05

> This is a significant claim that challenges the established giants in the semiconductor space. Yeah I doubt any one of them feels challenged. Except maybe Nexperia.

Free_Range_Lobster 2025-11-26 11:08

TSMC makes Apple chips. Elno will never come close to their production. It's just more stupid made up bs.

satansxlittlexhelper 2025-11-26 11:08

So what I’m hearing here is that your cars suck ass.

jizzyjugsjohnson 2025-11-26 11:09

Elon Musk spouts bullshit. More at 11

Certain-Month-5981 2025-11-26 11:10

Now the liar is at it again, cant somebody in the USA take all his money and deport him back to South africa

masssy 2025-11-26 11:10

Call TSMC and see how many free slots they have for manufacturing. And that's that out the way.

Visual-Advantage-834 2025-11-26 11:10

Nearer 500 than 501

Stu5000 2025-11-26 11:12

If Elon has to outsource his chip manufacturing like everybody else, its simple for competitors to call him on his bullshit because apparently the supply chain for chips is extremely visible to everybody involved. If he says hes manufacturing his own chips, in his own fabs though... he can make up whatever lies he wants and nobody can call him on his bullshit (without being sued so hard their grandchildren will feel it)

Mother_Idea_3182 2025-11-26 11:17

Chip fabrication can’t be half assed. The Supreme Idiot high on ketamine will not be able to even grow the silicon substrate properly. His cost cutting ideas will only produce shiny expensive dark rocks.

Dapper-Lab-9285 2025-11-26 11:17

He can get SpaceX, X and The Boring Company to buy them. It's not like he hasn't used his other companies to buy up excess useless stock before.

ConkerPrime 2025-11-26 11:18

The stock rose on a random proclamation? Even if he started a fab today, it would take two to four years for first chip to come off the line. The Musk fanboys are really disconnected from reality. He thinks his genius” shortcuts can be applied to chip making and it will be hilarious to watch him flush money down the tube trying. At least it will be a billionaire spending money instead of storing it like all the rest do.

DistributedView 2025-11-26 11:18

200 million - and that's just phones. Got to add iPads, AppleTV, MacBooks, ...

bobi2393 2025-11-26 11:19

I think he means Tesla would "make" chips in the sense that Apple "makes" iPhones and Nike "makes" shoes. They'll help design chips, and have them made to order. If you want a good half hour overview of the Texas plant he's probably imagining will make them and outproduce everyone, I'd recommend YouTuber Anastasi In Tech's [America’s New Chip Factory –$50 Billion Disaster](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36W0dMwQJxU), which was published three weeks ago. The factory isn't as disastrous as the title makes it sound, with the final outcome still uncertain...I'd frame it more as a complex, longshot underdog saga.

ZoeperJ 2025-11-26 11:19

Neither do investors, apperantly...

Eastern_Guess8854 2025-11-26 11:19

This is so dumb, tsmc and Samsung make the chips for tesla…so you’re still limited by the manufacturer ability to build chips who by the way have huge orders from everyone else. There’s also no benchmarks on if these chips are even any good compared to the competitors like nvidia so it’s just the usual hyper bs coming out of musk…I guess the stock will go up again…ffs

Retox86 2025-11-26 11:20

Big surprise, give Elon a compensation package where one of the goals is the market cap, then watch him say all kind of BS to hype up the stock.. Then he just have to put a sale on FSD for 10 bucks per month and he has hit a target.

Brilliant_Voice1126 2025-11-26 11:22

Tesla doesn’t even have a chip foundry. This is a complete fabrication. To build one would take over a decade. He is just trying to reflect some of Nvidias fire and it’s pathetic. He uses Samsung and TSMC chips. They don’t make their own.

Silent_Confidence_39 2025-11-26 11:23

Yet we are here talking about it

Retox86 2025-11-26 11:29

Dont really get it, if he says he is manufactoring his own chips its already an easy call bullshit there. He isnt and wont do it in a long time. Meanwhile all others continue to grow their production while he is figuring out how to make one batch of chips (assuming he actually will do it). He could aswell say he will cure cancer next week, this is just plain bullshit with the sole purpose to stop the recent downfall of the stock.

DistributedView 2025-11-26 11:29

Bosch aren't going to be making AI grade chips though. Rather mundane stuff like powered seat controls and parking sensors. They saw how exposed they were during COVID to supply shortages of commodity chips. (If memory serves Bosch were taking apart brand new washing machines to harvest basic chips in order to fulfill automotive contracts).

Qazernion 2025-11-26 11:32

Will out produce all AI chip manufacturers by not having a chip foundry and not producing any of their own silicon… +20% to Tesla stock incoming!

>To emphasise the point, he wrote: 'We expect to build chips at higher volumes ultimately than all other AI chips combined. Read that sentence again, as I'm not kidding.' Nvidia tauted that the Saudi bought more than 400 000 of the new more than 55 000 $ accelerator, more than the price of most Teslas. This tool thinks he can outbid Nvidia and Apple for wafer capacity while sticking those chips in cars and robots that nobody buys. If Tesla was anything but a meme stock, the board would have already ousted the delirious man.

[deleted] 2025-11-26 12:07

[deleted]

SisterOfBattIe 2025-11-26 12:08

This doesn't need debunking, it's completely absurd that Tesla could bid more wafers than Nvidia and Apple alone.

SnoozleDoppel 2025-11-26 12:08

I think he is not saying. He will manufacture it.. he is saying. He is gonna design and ask TSMC to build it but Tesla will produce more chips built by TSMC or some other fab... It is still a total Bs but just a small nuance..if he meant manufacturing. State of the art chip aka TSMC.. then that's a bigger load of lies

Robo-X 2025-11-26 12:41

SpaceX, Even if they shove those chips into Starlink satellites, we’re talking about maybe 30,000 units. That’s hardly world-changing. The Boring Company was never a serious project. It was a stunt to derail California’s plans for a high-speed rail system. And Neuralink? Maybe the dream is to stick this chip in people’s brains. But honestly, what sane person would let a chip from a right-wing conspiracy theorist anywhere near their head?

UmichAgnos 2025-11-26 12:46

KC_experience 2025-11-26 12:47

There’s still a significant gap in supplies of the silicone wafers and other materials that the CHIPS act was supposed to help. But the CHIPS act was expected to take years if not a decade to become fully implemented. Musks thinks he can do it all now? [What is he…on ketamine?](https://youtu.be/bDf2j2CTDiE?si=bgwZLwggQOWhv5ph)

hashswag00 2025-11-26 12:48

Leon, focus on getting FSD to actually work. Then move on to other lies.

g_rich 2025-11-26 12:49

lol, unless he’s also building his own fabs then he’s delusional. Fabs are already at capacity and the new ones coming online are booked before they are even operational. Seeing that it takes 3-5 years for a fab to come online and Musk is proposing producing more Ai chips than everyone else combined he would need to build 2-6 (according to ChatGPT) new fabs or book a good chunk of TSMC or Samsung’s existing capacity. On top of the timelines to construct a new fab or six, it’s questionable if there is even the wafer capacity for that many new advanced fabs. It’s also likely ASML has a years long backlog on the lithograph machines required to make 2,3 and 5 nm chips, so even if he was able to fast track construction and secure the wafers it’s doubtful if he’d be able to secure the equipment to actually manufacture the chips. So unless he has a few new fabs that nobody knows about in the pipeline or has been able to secure existing manufacturing capacity from TSMC, which would require Tesla overtaking Apple, Nvidia and AMD, then his claim is extremely unlikely.

PlaneteGreatAgain 2025-11-26 12:52

lol

slick2hold 2025-11-26 12:52

So Tesla is a chip company now? Let me guess what analysts will say. " We've increased the price to Tesla to 2k because the chip making business, plus trillion dollar robo taxi business, plus trillion dollars autonomous business, plus Optimus business, plus trillion dollar Ev business, plus 500b solar and battery business makes them ther most valuable company. Let's not forget what Kathie Wooda said about ALL THAT DATA Tesla collected on the roads. That was worth trillions too for some effing reason. What kind of bizarre world are we in?

[deleted] 2025-11-26 12:57

Uhm what happened to **DOJO**? and Dojo 2 3 4 5 ? Right, it was FRAUD, again.

And while doing that he will produce more car than all car makers combined and quality check the cars him self while selling them personally and in his spare time he will code the new robot while also assembling it and of course he will be producing the most out of those as well

ShotBandicoot7 2025-11-26 13:40

Btw. not even GROK 4.1 believes in it: Q: „In here Elon Musk claims TSLA will become the leader of AI chip manufacturer, overtaking everyone including NVIDIA. https://www.ibtimes.co.uk/elon-musk-claims-tesla-could-out-produce-all-ai-chip-makers-investors-react-1758014 Is that realistic?“ A from Grok 4.1 (via perplexity): „No, Elon Musk’s claim that Tesla will produce more AI chips than all other manufacturers combined, including NVIDIA, is not realistic in the foreseeable future.[ibtimes +2] Current Production Gap Tesla has deployed several million AI chips (AI4 generation) across vehicles and data centers like Dojo, which equates to roughly 7,500-81,000 NVIDIA H100 equivalents in compute power. In stark contrast, NVIDIA dominates with 77-90% market share, projecting 5+ million AI GPUs shipped in 2025 alone (e.g., millions of Blackwell units consuming 535,000 wafers), fueled by $120+ billion in data center revenue. Total AI chip market production supports a $50-95 billion industry in 2025, with NVIDIA’s scale dwarfing Tesla’s automotive-focused output.[cnbc +6] Tesla’s Roadmap Challenges Tesla’s AI5 enters small-scale samples in 2026 and mass production in 2027, with AI6 following in 2028, targeting annual new designs but relying on foundries like TSMC and Samsung without owned fabrication. NVIDIA benefits from advanced processes (4nm+), mature supply chains, and broad demand from hyperscalers, shipping 20 million+ chips yearly. Tesla’s vertical integration aids efficiency for self-driving and Optimus but lacks the ecosystem to match industry-wide volumes soon.[finance.yahoo +5] Feasibility Barriers The AI chip market grows to $165-295 billion by 2030 at 30-40% CAGR, but competitors like AMD, Intel, and Google erode shares while NVIDIA leads innovation. Tesla would need unprecedented fab investments (e.g., 1 million chips/month factory) amid supply constraints, a multi-year hurdle Musk acknowledges via partnerships. Claims hype Tesla’s AI ambitions but overlook NVIDIA’s entrenched position.[tomshardware +5]

ShotBandicoot7 2025-11-26 13:43

They could also not produce a single viable chip. They could give each one of their employees a million dollars. They could stuff their asses full of peanut M&Ms and cluck like chickens. There’s a lot of things they *could* do.

Nvidia is killing earning forecasts, and is making money hand over fist with AI chips demand they can’t keep up with. Tesla now “makes” AI chips too! In our mind we have a full plan to dominate everyone! Tesla can make more than anyone! And robots! It doesn’t matter that people aren’t buying our cars as much now and the rebate is gone. We are a company of the future! Elon will be a trillionaire!!! (/s if not obvious)

lemonfreshhh 2025-11-26 14:34

Tesla, the everything-bullshit company

hd8383 2025-11-26 14:34

It would be funny though to see him try to start up a chip fab. Replay how model 3 startup went and apply to fab. Hilarity ensues.

Isn’t FSD only optimized for camera only driving? No wonder no one wants it; they’d be a) locked in to the Tesla hardware suite (even if Tesla didn’t make it) and b) dependent on Tesla for any updates.

fasada68 2025-11-26 14:54

Probably get it done in two weeks or the end of the year for sure. Right after the FSD Ca to NY roadtrip and the Roadster 2.0 release. Oh and I forgot they have to cram that after the annual manufacture of 250,000 CyberRust.

Major_Turnover5987 2025-11-26 14:55

At this point it's just Russian and other dark money laundering. The amount of fraud is staggering. There is no product and no service.

OhSillyDays 2025-11-26 14:56

Tesla isn't making the chips, Samsung and TSMC are. Additionally, are the same type of chips they already have in the car. These chips are for running ai models and not training them. Nvidia is the company that builds ai chips for training. Tesla chips won't be used for training. In other words, Musk is using confusing terminology to describe what he is doing to investors. He's trying to prop his stock price. One other note, the new chip is evolutionary not revolutionary. Meaning it'll likely have the same problems as the previous chips, which is hallucinating, just at a lower rate. It'll still have the problem though. And that makes the technology extremely difficult to engineer safely.

king_platypus 2025-11-26 15:01

microtherion 2025-11-26 15:25

Yes, Tesla is fabless. But so is NVIDIA, and Apple, and they still design chips. The roadmap shown in the article even mentions the fabs they plan to use: TSMC and Samsung. I don’t believe the top line claim for a bit, but this particular aspect does not seem to be fraudulent.

Brilliant_Voice1126 2025-11-26 15:39

That is the point I think we’re agreeing with each ither. Those articles only quote him discussing these performance metrics. So when he says they’ll perform 40x, 50x, 100x better than the existing platforms which field experts say (I have no experyise just what I’ve read about Nvidia’s current lead) will take 10 years of new foundry design to beat current Nvidia performance, he’s just lying. He’s waving the bullshit wand and saying he can 100x outperform the current leaders using the same materials. Ok Jan. He also said FSD would run on the current hardware. And that it would come out in 2018, and 2019, and 2020, and Mars by 2025, and robotaxi in all markets by the end of 2025. It’s just puffery. He has a new chip being made, sure, if anyone manages to benchmark it I’d be shocked if it beats a Blackwell, given that Nvidia is laser focused on massive AI computation. And even so it’s apples and oranges since the chips are meant to network at scale. It’s nonsense on many levels.

atehrani 2025-11-26 15:40

Tesla has no FABs nor expertise. No way they can beat TSMC

DreadpirateBG 2025-11-26 15:43

This is what I don’t understand. They are not making these high tech chips themselves. How can the stock go up and how can he claim they can out produce when they don’t even know the hard work it is to produce. Remember when he said he knew everything about manufacturing cars and then had to hire people back becasue in some positions people were better than robots. This guy lives the dunning -Kruger curve where once he learns some information he thinks he knows everything. The peak of mount stupid is where he lives

EventAccomplished976 2025-11-26 16:44

Because plenty of people who „reality checked“ him in the past ended up being dead wrong. I‘d say in the past 5 years or so we‘ve seem a growing gap between his claims and what industry insiders think is possible, but every investor wants to be the guy who got into SpaceX back in 2005 when the entire space industry was laughing at them.

whatever 2025-11-26 18:19

I think the first time Elon mentioned Tesla needing its own chip fab was at the last shareholder mass. This is not likely to happen for a while, if ever. It's also unclear which of Elon's overlapping companies would end up owning/running the foundry. Heck perhaps a new one, why not. Tesla started using some of its own chip designs since their HW3 platform, and it's.. okay? No groundbreaking or bleeding edge stuff in there so far, just cheap special purpose chips. But between what they've done so far, their ambitions for "billions" of humanoid robots, and xAI's overwhelming need to continuously train [maximally Elon-polishing LLMs](https://gizmodo.com/11-things-grok-says-elon-musk-does-better-than-anyone-2000689254), I can understand why they would want to ask Santa Claus for a "Tesla Terrafab". Anyway, here's Elon's [relevant ramblings](https://youtu.be/VGPlvmMjPtE?t=4871) on the topic: > So, um, and then I've been putting a lot of time into the new Tesla chip design, uh, because in order to have a functional robot, you have to have a great AI chip. Um, and it needs to be an inexpensive chip and it needs to be very power efficient. > So we we we believe the uh AI5 chip will be probably about a third of the power of uh say something like a Blackwell um an Nvidia Blackwell which is a great a great chip um for roughly comparable performance um and and much less than 10% of the cost. > So, this is a chip that is that is very much optimized for the Tesla AI software stack. So, it's uh it's not meant to be a general purpose chip. It's meant to be an amazing chip for the Tesla AI software. Um, and uh I mean a couple things that I think make like how is Tesla able to achieve such an improvement? And I think it is because uh- because we are specialized. We're not trying to, you know, Nvidia has to serve the superset of all past and future customers. > So all of their requirements, all of the software that they've written has to work, which is a very difficult problem. Um whereas uh we just need to make it work for our software. Um and and so we we're able to simplify the chip dramatically. Um and then we we also uh I think I think we're unique in this but like we we have an integer based uh system. Um and integer operations are fundamentally more efficient than floating point operations. > So we can do floating point but we but the vast majority of of our inference is done in integer. um which is if you're familiar with sort of logic gates like the simplicity of of integer and uh it's integer is much more power efficient much more silicon efficient um but you have to you actually have to train for uh integer uh inference which everyone else is training for floating point um those that's kind of like a niche technical detail but it's actually very important so Um yeah, this this is this is going to be a great chip. > Um so this this chip will be um made in basically in four places. Uh TSMC Taiwan, Samsung Korea, TSMC Arizona, and TSMC Texas. [Applause] > and and we already know uh what improvements to make for AI6. So I I I'm hopeful that we can within less than a year of AI5 starting production, we can actually transition in the same fab to AI6 and uh double all of the performance metrics. > So [Applause] I'm super hardcore on chips right now, as you may be able to tell. Um, I got chips on the brain. I dream about chips literally. Um, I can I can I can draw the the the the the you know the the at least the broad brushstroke physical design of the AI5 chip by off by heart at this point. Um, it's it's it's a good chip. It's a good chip, sir. > Um, so this this is this is really key. Um, now one of the things I'm trying to figure out is how do we make enough chips? Um, so uh, you know, I have a lot of respect for our the the Tesla partners TSMC and Samsung. Um yeah, you know, maybe we'll we'll we'll do something with Intel. Uh we haven't signed any deal, but it's probably worth having discussions with Intel. Uh but um even when we extrapolate the best case scenario for chip production from our suppliers, uh it's still not enough. > So I think we may have to do a Tesla Terrafab. [Slow Ominous Nodding] > So, it's like giga but way bigger. Um, I I can't see any other way to get to the volume of chips that that we're looking for. Um, so I think we're probably going to have to build a gigantic chip fab.

It’s not so much fraudulent as much as they’re letting people make their own assumptions. They know damn well that leaving out information is making people think Tesla is producing a new type of chip set called an “ai chip”. In reality they’re sourcing a cpu off another company that’s all it is. Nothing to do with the software that is ai that just so happens to run on a computer chip.

StanchoPanza 2025-11-26 23:26

I'll have what he's smoking

StanchoPanza 2025-11-26 23:28

"Remember when he said he knew everything about manufacturing cars' He said he knew more about \*manufacturing\* than anyone currently alive on Earth

Maybe retail investors, if I’m managing a pension fund or big fund I should be definitely reevaluating my choices.

Cold-Albatross 2025-11-27 00:12

Pump that stock!

Elon Musk claimed that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) would save the US government at least $2 trillion in federal spending.

BringBackUsenet 2025-11-27 01:51

He also said he'd have people on Mars by 2024.

kaplanfx 2025-11-27 01:54

He claimed he would have DOGE on Mars in flying cars by 2026

nervousandlost 2025-11-27 02:48

Do people actually believe this??

symonty 2025-11-27 03:29

What happened to using tesla to idling Tesla cars could create massive 100-million-vehicle strong computer for AI — 'bored' vehicles could offer 100 gigawatts of distributed compute power? I mean that promise lasted about a day?

symonty 2025-11-27 03:31

I dont think they produce any chips, do they have a FAB. They order chips right, I mean niether does apple. I am just confused what he is claiming he can order more chips from TSMC?

mackfactor 2025-11-27 03:42

Everything about Tesla lives on a bizarre hype cycle that defies reality. We truly are in a post-truth era.

mackfactor 2025-11-27 03:43

Bosch also produces micro-mechanical sensors in their fab in Reutlingen

Southern_Policy_6345 2025-11-27 15:06

Your comment is a classic example of the Tesla debate. The perpetual dynamic is Elon says something absolutely absurd and then his critics go way overboard to dismiss his legitimate incredible achievements. Elon was the first successful American auto company founder in 100 years. And Tesla legitimately have as much in-house manufacturing as any other auto company. It’s also the only non Chinese auto company to profitability manufacturer and sell electric cars. Elon certainly has a “fail fast” strategy and talks an enormous load of bullshit so he is easy to criticise but there is a reason that Tesla bulls have massively outperformed the shorts for well over a decade.

Dehnus 2025-11-27 16:38

Because if you know history, you know that rich people are idiots.

meltbox 2025-11-27 16:45

The greatest con the rich ever pulled is making people think they’re there because they’re smarter than other people.

sketchahedron 2025-11-27 17:15

All this leads me to conclude he’s building a time machine.

Part_Tricky 2025-11-27 17:33

This moron has tried everything, lies, deception, market manipulation, suing companies like OpenAI for no reason, political interference, all of these just to make more money and power. No Tesla wont develop an AI chip on its own ever, the best thing they can do is make a processor like Apple which is customized to Apple products. Making a specialized chip these day is not hard anymore.

BringBackUsenet 2025-11-27 17:49

It will be ready next year. No... wait.... last year.... No....

admiral_drake 2025-11-28 01:35

Making chips is 1000x harder than making cars. Just the facilities to house the equipment and deals youd have to make with TSML and Lam and suppliers would take years to a decade to iron out. Its literally the most complicated and nanometer technology thing humanity can make.

_Monosyllabic_ 2025-11-28 03:31

A crackhead lied then dumb people threw money at him. I'm shocked! The stock market is nothing but a scam now. None of these tech stocks are worth anything yet FOMO attracts massive investment regardless.

_Monosyllabic_ 2025-11-28 03:37

But the stock price! I swear tech CEO is the easiest job ever. You just have to make up bullshit then collect money. You never have to actually have a profitable business just keep making wild promises.

_Monosyllabic_ 2025-11-28 03:40

There's sooooo many of them though. Unicorn farts and pixie dust is the new gold.

Not only that, he is the Shit KIng of Fuck Mountain.

DreadpirateBG 2025-11-28 12:58

I agree with most what you said. But he was not the founder. He was an investor who pushed the founders out of the way. I agree his willing to take risk helped grow Tesla. And I love Tesla as a car company and SPACE X AND everything. But we have to let go of the cult of personality and remember it takes a huge team of driven people to do this stuff, not one guy. That’s the illusion these super rich people push on the public. If you look at the histories of many similar people you learn that they are not so special or self made they create that persona to help sell. They tend to , drive employees to very stressful points , etc etc. so yes he was/is very influential at a Tesla and probably still BECAUSE he is the BOSS and he has been known to fire or humiliate people.

ShotBandicoot7 2025-11-28 13:06

Mhh not really. Plenty of other robotaxi and robot providers. So it‘s literally not Musk who makes this happen but his competitors.

InvisibleBlueRobot 2025-11-28 17:57

Tesla is adding 15 new robotaxis to its fleet, the stock jumped 150 billion dollars on the news.  Logic, reality, facts no longer matter.

soldieroscar 2025-11-29 12:48

Lol another day, another delusion

tmas34 2025-11-29 14:10

TESLA is now a chip, robot, AI, car, and solar panel panel. All whilst selling none of the former, and dwindling volumes of the latter. All the while major economic headwinds globally, house of cards still standing for now.

[deleted] 2025-11-29 14:55

Except they can't. And their quality sucks. And the ones they built can't be sold. as for chips: what happened to Dojo? Remember that? Now they buy off the shelf Nvidia chips. (Not that it makes sense to brag about chips when you are a CAR MAKER. Just like he brags with social media app he's a the biggest news app) By that measurement I'm the biggest German seller of noodles in my entire road! And, the only one WORLD-WIDE, who looks like me!!!!)

nolongerbanned99 2025-11-30 17:13

As much or more of a liarthan trump.

RMWonders 2025-11-30 23:56

Another bogus claim from Musk. Tesla is sooooo overvalued. Get out before it’s too late.

Possible-Mountain698 2025-12-01 01:38

“could” is doing a lot of heavy lifting.

Withnail2019 2025-12-01 17:03

Yeah, just more lies. Tesla fans never ask questions like where is the chip fab or chip design department.

JeremyTheCat 2026-01-29 01:45

SpaceX is valued less than TSLA They had revenue of $10B vs TSLA revenue of $97.7B in 2024 Both of them, with their combined 'valuation' of over $3T are the stuff of dreams resulting from a pipe of opium.

brintoul 2026-01-29 01:47

SpaceX is being used to prop up TSLA. That’s what my comment is about.

JeremyTheCat 2026-01-29 01:51

He wants to build the worlds greatest fab - the HyperFab I used to do that for a living. When I left, $4B would get you a powered shell with comms, security and logistics infrastructure, then you had to man it and set up the actual foundry hardware That was 15 years ago. Expect that $4B to have grown to $15B and the project time to be around 4-6 years - and that's using 'copy exactly' fabrication, where you are using designs that you have tried and proven over decades. To go from green/brown field where you don't have anything and never have, to operational, will be ten years and multiple tens of billions of dollars

JeremyTheCat 2026-01-30 20:06

With 1/10 of the revenue? How does that work? He built SpaceX leveraging the market valuation of his Tesla shares. His stake in SpaceX exceeds his stake in TSLA, but SpaceX has only made $72M in profit, ever - not even a days interest on his billions in TSLA loans

brintoul 2026-02-02 02:08

SpaceX bought SolarCity bonds many years ago. Musk will find a way, trust me.

JeremyTheCat 2026-02-02 03:45

They also bought a bunch of Cybertrucks to use around the place. How are those SolarCity bonds doing? Interesting that SpaceX bought the bonds only weeks before Tesla bought SolarCity in toto.
