You need a study by Yale to tell you this?

stillfeel 2025-11-14 14:35

Was ready to say the same thing

One-Sundae-2711 2025-11-14 14:36

lol no shit

ComicsEtAl 2025-11-14 14:42

Man, them Ivy Leaguers don’t miss a trick, do they?

thesavgeMD 2025-11-14 14:42

Did you know the sky is blue?

EconomyDoctor3287 2025-11-14 14:43

coulda told you that for free, that aligning with nazi's ain't going well over in europe, that alining with the orange felon ain't going well over with progressive people in the US who were the larger group to by EV's. Now Elmo is stuck selling EV's to the MAGA crowd, who don't want anything to do with EV's, since they want REAL cars with a combustion engine running on gas. And well, in China, Tesla is falling behind technologically, on price and being a racist biggot doesn't help sales there either

altoona_sprock 2025-11-14 14:57

It's nice to have receipts

levon999 2025-11-14 15:01

😱

levon999 2025-11-14 15:06

So, Elon crushes sales, then gets paid to increase sales from the lowered base. Perfect.

Sorry-Programmer9826 2025-11-14 15:06

In other news: water discovered to be wet

mike7257 2025-11-14 15:13

I would have done it cheaper

TryIsntGoodEnough 2025-11-14 15:15

Ah oh... Bad press about TSLA... time for the stock to rise.

Oraclelec13 2025-11-14 15:16

No kidding!

Engunnear 2025-11-14 15:22

Ironically, if they got a federal grant to fund said study, cutting off that grant is one thing for which DOGE would have actually been useful.

Engunnear 2025-11-14 15:23

In before the pedants who don’t understand that “wet” has more than one meaning.

BringBackUsenet 2025-11-14 15:26

They wasted time and resources to do a study on what is obvious?

BringBackUsenet 2025-11-14 15:27

Only the finest ejumikashun.

SC_W33DKILL3R 2025-11-14 15:30

To be fair they do like to study all the things

thumbs27 2025-11-14 15:31

No fucking shit. I was adamant my next car was going to be a Tesla a few years ago, but after his crazy toxic behavior I bought a hybrid as at the time there were not any good (imo) alternatives. Ny next car will be electric, but it won't be a Tesla.

nplant 2025-11-14 15:37

Yes, because: A) Something being obvious is not proof B) The size of the effect is interesting information

totpot 2025-11-14 15:38

I still see Tesla sheep that insist he has not done anything wrong.

Artistic_Pattern6260 2025-11-14 15:40

Now we need a Study that measures the damage Musk has done to the United States.

Pre3Chorded 2025-11-14 15:40

That article failed to even mention that Musk is a Nazi who did Nazi salutes to support his Trump, then when he got called out on it, made Holocaust jokes.

Minimum-Function1312 2025-11-14 15:45

And yet he was asked to stay on as their leader?$$$

sambull 2025-11-14 15:47

and for that.. you get... $1 trillion dollars.. maniacal doctor evil laugh that hits the mark

Prestigious-Pain-463 2025-11-14 15:52

Well when you've given that much money to nazis it makes sense you'd feel the need to save face.

DatabaseFickle9306 2025-11-14 15:56

Tesla lovers (I have many in my own extended family) are fine with this.

SippieCup 2025-11-14 15:59

also, for the MBA student(s) who did it.. Easiest thesis ever.

ALTERFACT 2025-11-14 16:04

From the Ministry of Duh 🙄

AreYouFilmingNow 2025-11-14 16:06

Being a researcher at Yale sounds easy. Maybe they'll study the dampness of water next.

No_Pen8240 2025-11-14 16:12

Uhhh, Yale did a study on this? It's like when Ohio State spent millions to determine teenagers don't have a fully formed brain! Even Elon knows that Yale looks stupid after that. . .

Trades46 2025-11-14 16:18

certain r/electricvehicles users would, yet these knobs would still find a way to defend their precious cult brand and dear leader.

sidc42 2025-11-14 16:29

I feel like the gang at Greendale Community College could probably have done this study.

Chaz_wazzers 2025-11-14 16:30

From the journal DUH magazine, who else to blame? You guessed it, Frank Stallone.

Makemeacyborg 2025-11-14 16:34

But he should be paid 1 Trillion. Make it make sense

nolongerbanned99 2025-11-14 16:34

Who woulda thought that waving a chainsaw around while high in ketamine after you’ve slashed thousands of govt jobs for no real reason would have this kind of impact.

Extension_Ant_7369 2025-11-14 16:49

Yet he is worth a Trillion Dollar compensation package?

PerfectPercentage69 2025-11-14 16:58

What sealed the deal for me was him attending an AfD (German far- right political party with known Nazi elements), a few days after he threw the "roman salute", and talking about how Germans should get over their "past guilt". https://www.cnn.com/2025/01/25/europe/elon-musk-germany-afd-protests-intl-latam

SVTContour 2025-11-14 17:13

If you already own a Tesla, you may as well keep it otherwise you’re going to take a loss. Buying a new Tesla? That would be a different story.

CRXCRZ 2025-11-14 17:19

Underrated comment.

geekbot2000 2025-11-14 17:20

They should have elucidated, the study was by Yale Lock Corp.

MushroomFondue 2025-11-14 17:28

File that under "No Shit Sherlock."

doalwa 2025-11-14 17:40

No shit, Sherlock!

winniecooper73 2025-11-14 17:40

Falls into the “no, duh” category

Kamen_rider_B 2025-11-14 17:40

He was like this since,….well ever?? I don’t hold anything against people who didn’t know because if SNL or TBBT did not properly do their background check on him before letting him on the show, I can’t blame the average Joe.

ChuckGallagher57 2025-11-14 17:49

Now that’s a waste of school resources. I bet you folks from the community college you can figure that out!

Common-Violinist-305 2025-11-14 17:49

yep

AbleDanger12 2025-11-14 17:55

That's putting it lightly. Let's not pussyfoot around it: his Nazi beliefs. Not polarizing or partisan. Nazi.

AbleDanger12 2025-11-14 18:06

Idk. Depending on the amount, that loss might be worth it.

matt2001 2025-11-14 18:15

I jumped ship. Tesla x 3, last car, Ioniq 5.

anki_steve 2025-11-14 18:33

You need a study to tell you the magnitude.

1AnonymousBurner 2025-11-14 18:38

D'uh.

runnyyolkpigeon 2025-11-14 18:45

Also, the sky is blue, and water is wet.

Soggy_Ad9991 2025-11-14 19:15

r/noshitsherlock

linkinit 2025-11-14 19:22

And still got three trillion and got thousands fired

Hughley_N_Dowd 2025-11-14 19:30

Well done Yale! Those endowments are really getting their moneys worth.  Up Ivy League! Huzzah!

RociBuldidi 2025-11-14 19:43

lol, Jesus…a study was required for this?

Momik 2025-11-14 20:04

And C) A lot of people at Tesla are trying to pretend this isn’t true

Toki-B 2025-11-14 20:11

I’m glad there’s intellectuals to figure stuff like this out for us common folk.

CzarCW 2025-11-14 20:19

A lot of people here that don’t understand the researchers were quantifying how much it affected sales, not just whether it had an effect. CBS News’ headline writer makes them look like idiots for doing this research, but they were never merely trying to determine yes/no, but put some numbers to it. The research says they’d have like 70% higher car sales without his political actions.

Beartrkkr 2025-11-14 20:58

Who are you, who are so wise in the ways of science?

ipub 2025-11-14 21:03

Still. Nice to rub it in his face anyways.

aussiegreenie 2025-11-14 21:16

Yale, in collaboration with the NoSHitt Sherlock Institute. by Capt Obvious

DreadpirateBG 2025-11-14 21:30

No fucking way. Did someone pay for this report? Jesus Christ

mrbuttsavage 2025-11-14 21:49

We need our best minds to tell us being a really annoying white nationalist is bad for business.

mrbuttsavage 2025-11-14 21:50

Even if you think he didn't "do" anything wrong the amount of great replacement theory stuff he boosts on Twitter is beyond the pale.

GlassHeart09 2025-11-14 21:51

Yes because now it's officially scientifically proven that pedo guy doesn't know wtf he's doing.

ObviouslyJoking 2025-11-14 22:23

But at least he didn't go to prison.

[deleted] 2025-11-14 22:39

In the latest installment of No Fucking Shit

WrongThinkBadSpeak 2025-11-14 22:54

Yeah but this is one of those *'no fucking shit, sherlock'* types of studies that nobody needed to know it's true

henlochimken 2025-11-15 00:30

What the hell is water?

TenesmusSupreme 2025-11-15 00:33

Sure, but give the man a trillion dollar incentive package anyway

vic25qc 2025-11-15 04:23

There is no study, argument, fact that will change their mind. It's a cult

SomeOkeByTheSea 2025-11-15 08:23

really ya think?!?! Common Yale, do something useful, like how did it get here that billionaires have some much power, how does society dismantle this mess. just two useful questions i can think of.

Gildardo1583 2025-11-15 09:54

This one youtube EV reviewer guy is still all up on Elon.

Xcitado 2025-11-15 11:26

IKR?!?!?

I_just_made 2025-11-15 12:43

Good thing they gave him a $1 trillion dollar deal, he is doing wonders for the company /s

[deleted] 2025-11-15 15:43

A study by the Keller School for the Blind concurred.

gwenver 2025-11-15 17:47

Nah, can't be a Nazi or Netenyahu would have called him out...

rbetterkids 2025-11-15 21:04

Ya think?

Dependent-Fig-2517 2025-11-15 22:22

Well they have a remarquable sense of the obvious (still I get the fact there is now a study make the obvious harder to deny)

Mr-Dotties-Dad 2025-11-16 00:28

Thanks, Yale. Couldn’t have figured it out without ya

InvisibleBlueRobot 2025-11-16 01:15

Duh.

ColossusofNero 2025-11-16 05:05

Harvard has found that studies from Yale are stupid.

[deleted] 2025-11-16 13:41

Could really have saved a lot of money on this one.

garbageemail222 2025-11-16 14:59

Nobody should need it, but listen to the fanboys a little bit and you'll see that it actually is necessary.

[deleted] 2025-11-16 20:11

I have the money to buy any one of the models, but, nope. Never.

ispeektroof 2025-11-18 15:49

None of my homies buy Nazi mobiles.
