What do you expect when Teslas market share in 2025 is only 3.9% in Germany.
Model Y was the No. 1 BEV in 2024 in Germany. And this is the first time no Tesla is in the Top 20.
Tesla went down from 9.9 to now 3.9% market share. VW went from 16.3 to 20%. But has 4 volume models vs. 2 from Tesla.
For the German market there seems to be no volume model anymore. VW group has 10 models in the Top 20.
Might as well make that 11. The Explorer is a VW in everything but the badge.
Also true, yes. Pretty impressive comeback actually.
It will look different again in December. Quirk of Tesla deliveries. The factory produces for the foreign markets first (even Canada these days, thanks to tariffs) before delivering for Germany. We saw this in September. They're still not doing as good as they once were, but you had the Model 3 and Y both in the Top 10 in September.
But only in September. Tesla will likely have less then half its 2024 market share in BeVs this year.
Proud of us.
Apart from the embarassment of it the right thing to do is shut down Grünheide and supply Europe from the U.S. tariff free. That plant is an Albatros around their neck.
Yes when you load three months’ sales into a single month, it’s surprising that you outsell people who don’t do that…

"for a long time"
Isn’t it since a long time ago as it was a point in time long ago?
No Telsa model has been in the top 20 for a long time. In German you can express a state in the past that leads up to the present with "Ist seit dann so" but not in English. Past times leading to the present are expressed with the present perfect. Das lernt man in der Realschule, 10. Klasse
I looked it up. It is a common phrase that is not entirely grammatically correct but widely used. So I’m sorry, I’ve had to much contact with native speakers so my school English grammar has suffered a bit. Aber danke fürs Klugscheißen.
When native English speakers use the word “since” it’s usually measuring against a specific time. Saying something like “since these many years” is technically correct, but it’s something you’re more likely to find in poetry than in everyday speech.
They'll be falling off the end of the list soon enough.
These are great news for my $TSLA stock!
Outsold by the Buzz. LOL.
Well done.
Basically the TSLA stock reacts now only to fears over a bursting AI-bubble. If (or once) that bubble bursts, TSLA-bulls will be trying to use the car-sales as a backup for the stock - like „oh yeah, the AI-bubble doesn’t really concern us because we have a flourishing car business to fall back to“ - only to find out that there is just a bit of ruins and rubble left of what once was the spearhead of BEVs. The next fallback will be the energy-business, but that’s not having the best time either.
VW’s MEB models have really gained impressive traction as they’ve progressively had their software fixed and interiors improved. They started off to such a bag start in 2020-2021 but the MEB models are starting to pull some good sales numbers - it’s actually quite surprising to see considering how poorly their were initially received.
