I remember seeing demos of some self flying cars long ago, probably 10-15 years now. They were essentially large drones that could squeeze into a lane of trafffic. During version 13 there was also an update that made the car extremely smooth driving. It literally drives smoother than any human. The way it accelerates, slows, turns, etc.. This is rather interesting. I think the years of the broken promises of FSD, has caused many people to stop paying attention. Peoples views of it are outdated. Watch the latest FSD videos from whoever you like. Full drive, no edits, etc... the car literally goes from point a to b with no interventions in the most comofortable way possible. Its insane. They are at the point where it is now about trying to find edge cases where the car will mess up, because normal fsd is too boring to watch, because it doesnt make mistakes. Pretty cool place to be.

I hit a button in my wife's model 3, and parked in a lot 3.5 hours later after multiple turns, merges, etc, including back roads without touching the steering wheel.... so.. while I wouldn't and can't fall asleep yet, it can definitely do point A to B multiple locations just fine, and with slight awakeness, Ive been convinced.

It would be interesting if this new vehicle had not only flight, but multi-terrain traversable modes for even water as well. He said it would be "cooler than every james bond car combined" and transforming into a boat type vehicle was one of those. I don't really care for the water transport aspect aside from the ability to shift and adapt the base of it's structure. I'm talking geometric reorganization of it's components to adapt to the frame type it needs. I have heard of military vehicles that use similar types of technology in order to shift between for example a helicopter and a plane, like a transformer but not as wildly excarnated. Obviously the flight aspect is the coolest (to me at least) and in order to be a vehicle and a plane it would need to alter it's own weight distribution and centers of masses in order to function at peak levels for both situations. This means either designing it around a chassis that holds a median between what a prime plane and car weight distribution looks like, which would work but is slightly inefficient, or have the vehicle be able to shift it's frame components to allow for stress points to be shifted and reinforced depending on it's shape. This would be highly technical and there would have to be many moving parts and design miracles, but the fact that he alludes to it being the most advanced vehicle they have developed to date makes me think it may have more capabilities than just drive and flight. Also they should indeed call it the P3N15. P.S this is all speculation until anything is actually revealed, and maybe its a dumb car that can fold out wings and fly at low speeds, or maybe just a new electric car, but I like to think about what can be accomplished vs what makes sense to distribute to the masses, given that the majority of humanity are tards

This is so stupid on so many levels. Things that fly, planes, helicopters require an insane amount of maintenance and systems checks. Also, you can't just rip around whereever you want / whenever you want in a flying vehicle you'd have to park it at an airport and submit flight plans. So cool I'm going to drive my flying car. I get in my normal car and drive to an airport and then do a 30-45 minute flight check and then submit a flight plan and ask for approval to depart. Once I'm cleared I take off and then fly to another airport where I now need another car to drive to my destination. LOL sounds great way better then just buying a helicopter and doing the exact same thing. Even if it could do full-self-flying (which planes already do fine) you still need to know how to pilot it just in case, since you know, if there is any issue at all with it you die. So either way you need flight school. Unless his flying car is a hovercraft. Please tell me it's a hovercraft.

FSD supervised is awesome. I guess that makes a lot of us who use it idiots. That said prior to using it I thought there is no way. The first ride with the latest software just blew me away and when the car parked itself without any intervention was one of those wait, what did it just do? If you doubt, anyone can go online and schedule a test drive with no pushy sales pitch, just take the car for half an hour and drive around.
I live in a neighborhood where there are no painted lines noting the middle of the street. There are many drivers who have trucks, large SUVs who are clueless or don’t care. I slow down and have stopped because of this and this was when I was driving a Spark. I trust FSD in most instances but not where there are no painted lines. The Tesla on FSD relies on camera to read posted speed signs, speed bumps that are painted and lanes. Without the visual input, drive yourself until you are back on main roads and then engage FSD.
Do know the car is utilizing visuals to read posted speed and lane markings. I love FSD, truly awesome. It will turn on the turn signal and change lanes. Many drivers don’t know turn signals exist. I trust the car a lot because the cameras see 360 whereas a human cannot. Where it lacks is when there are no painted lines, so big deal just drive until you reach the main roads that have painted lines. Is FSD perfect? No. The current version wants to match the speed of the dimwit going 80 plus on the interstate. You have to scroll the wheel down to reduce speed.
I concur. FSD diminishes the stress of driving and even just regen and the ability to one foot drive is awesome. Wish I had had a Tesla back in the 70s when I drove 3000 miles coast to coast.
