Norway is about to drop even harder Tesla Y is losing tax free status, as Norway drops the maximum allowed price.

CarsCarpal 2025-10-06 17:15

Thank goodness Tesla is an AI, Robot, Fruit Stall or whatver business now.

Schoeddl 2025-10-06 17:21

Tesla will soon offer the Model Y as an extremely reduced cheap version. With this, fElon kills four birds with one stone. 1.He builds a car that no one wants anymore, and not because of the price. 2. It reduces everything that motivated people to buy a Tesla. 3. He reduces his shrinking margin even further. 3. He doesn't change the actual problem at all, because it doesn't change the price-performance ratio, it doesn't change his political stance and it doesn't change anything about the Chinese competitors... He'll get a few fanboys into it because they've always dreamed of a Tesla but can't afford it. Awkward!

Isn’t Norway about to phase out all the EV subsidies & credits across the board soon?

Real-Technician831 2025-10-06 17:38

The first step is to lower the maximum limit. Over time they will remove it fully.

Tesla is a fastfood company, who cares about EV sales?

I_REDDIT_ONE_TIME 2025-10-06 18:16

Very bullish, extra inventory=more sales, everyone should know this.

Don't look behind the curtain incorporated

AI? That's old news, didn't you know Tesla pivoted hard to the Diner business? The TAM of food on planet earth is like $100T which it why Tesla is worth $20T at least. Actually because they will reduce the cost so much, the TAM will increase to $500T (because people will eat 100x more food), which is why Tesla is worth at least $100T to be conservative.

This house of cards will come down one day.

hilldog4lyfe 2025-10-06 23:00

It’s a Diner business

PriveCo 2025-10-07 00:40

In the history of cars has a low cost version ever saved a product? I can’t remember any.

Real-Technician831 2025-10-07 05:04

Slow food Slowest popcorns on the planet

Pixel91 2025-10-07 05:56

I'm not surprised. They've been offering the facelifted Model Y at 0.99% pretty much from the start. And the delivery times have stayed rock-solid at within a month of order. They're barely on the market for half a year and sitting like bricks.

hypercomms2001 2025-10-07 10:02

….. and Elon Musk wants a $1 trillion payday for what failure?

NetZeroDude 2025-10-07 12:21

I wonder if they’ll close Tesla-Germany.

NotFromMilkyWay 2025-10-07 13:35

Norway doesn't have EV subsidies. They have ICE taxes.

Ill_Somewhere_3693 2025-10-07 14:03

Then that is a subsidy, because if it’s not taxed like ICE vehicles are, then that revenue deficit has to be compensated from somewhere else. It’s like saying my neighbor has to pay taxes but I don’t. That means your neighbor is subsidizing YOUR taxes.

neonmantis 2025-10-09 00:46

At least now we have an explanation for Musk's breeding fetish. He just wants to sell more burgers.

neonmantis 2025-10-09 00:48

Or what they do with the Cybertruck production lines

dharmoslap 2025-10-09 15:32

It will drop even further next year when VW ID.Polo and CUPRA Raval go on the market.
