I think people are going to be surprised about how much government incentives drove EV adoption.
Demand is going to go utterly in the toilet. These companies are going to be sitting on thousands of unsold vehicles. They will be forced to slash prices when the buyers simply aren’t there, which is going to kill the bottom line.
Companies will go under, and there won’t be bailouts this time.

Bullish.
But seriously. I'm ready to see this stock price reflect reality. A PE of 250 isn't reality.

And in comes China to overtake the market.

That will never be allowed. Importing Chinese EVs would utterly destroy all domestic manufacturing.

Who said anything about domestic?

Slate originally announced a $20k truck after incentives (before Trump obviously).
I really wanted one. Made me realize I don't want an EV unless it's at least cheaper.

A p/e of 10 isn't reality for a carmaker.

Without subsides I don’t think Tesla would be anywhere near what it is today. Hell it may have even went bankrupt. Pisses me off knowing my tax dollars went to Elon’s pocket.

I got my AWD MY for $6000 off list and $10k of gov't cash, so $40k OTD. At that price it was an offer I couldn't refuse.

Tesla was selling ice water in hell with the Model 3 & Y 2018 - 2022.
Problem is that was never going to go '50% CAGR for the foreseeable future', more like Elon topped out in 2022.

How "lucky" of you to get the chance to give them 40k 😂😂

At the same time Hyundai is lowering prices on Ioniq5 and others… let’s see how this all shakes out.

And so the stock inexplicably goes up day after day despite predicted loss of sales due to EV credit going away.

Premarket, the stock is up 6 points, or about 1.5%. Yesterday it was up nearly 15 points. Now valued at $1.44 trillion, the most it's ever been worth. This makes the banking stock bubble back in 2008 look trite.

If tesla lowers their price by 7500, wouldn't that erode all the profit thet make per car?
Hyundai can sustain as volume is little and they have other cars to offset it. Kind of like how meta subsidies AI with profits from other ventures.
