Not enough attention is being paid to Tesla's decline in the second largest EV market.

TimeTravelingChris 2025-09-28 18:36

Don't worry, after September it will be declining in every EV market.

jabola321 2025-09-28 18:49

Sounds like the stock is due for another rally.

Soffritto_Cake_24 2025-09-28 19:01

but elon just keep hitting snooze haha

BuckChintheRealtor 2025-09-28 19:13

Drove from Brussels to Munich the other day and Tesla is now just one of the many EV brands. Whereas even 5 years ago or so it was all Tesla and *some* competitors. Now it's just another boring Y, 3 or the occasional (very rare by now) S or X. With so many other brands and cars to chose from, this is not some temporary thing. Tesla lost their market share and will never regain it. Hardly even matters at this point if Leon is "sieg heil-ing" or not.

JustAFlexDriver 2025-09-28 19:14

Tesla has moved on from selling EVs.

Grunge4U 2025-09-28 19:23

It definitely will, I expect Tesla profits to be in the red for all of q4 through all of 2026. The talking heads will have a heyday over whatever improvement Tesla shows from the ending tax credit lift but then the real pain starts.

YamatoRyu2006 2025-09-28 19:34

This will definitely cause Tesla's stock prices to rise more.

meteorprime 2025-09-28 19:36

But what don’t understand is if the Chinese cars are selling so well outside of China, why aren’t there like Reddit communities of people discussing owning them? There’s literally a community for every single electric car that Hyundai sells on this website… Where are the BYD communities for its various cars?

jabola321 2025-09-28 19:37

They are already pivoting to robots. Ask and they talk about are robots and how they are going to sell 100s of millions of robots. 🤖

bindermichi 2025-09-28 20:35

Maybe it‘s not Redditors that are buying them

Patient_Access_9311 2025-09-28 20:39

Still have quantum in the pocket, I've feeling that TSLA will be the one breaking the back of the camel.

Tennouheika 2025-09-28 20:43

Unfortunate another innovative American company is being beaten out by Chinese who don’t respect intellectual property.

Far-Improvement-9266 2025-09-28 20:47

I hate that this is true. If any other company had news like this, the stock would drop, but Tesla stock has absolutely no ground in reality.

Grunge4U 2025-09-28 20:54

Any other company and it would be a shame. Pick your poison, Fascism or Communism.

Fit-Relative-786 2025-09-28 20:56

>Still have quantum in the pocket, "Theorizing that one could time travel within his own lifetime, Elon Musk stepped into the Quantum Leap Accelerator ... and vanished. He awoke to find himself trapped in the past, facing mirror images that were not his own, and driven by an unknown force to change history for the worse. His only guide on this journey is Ketamine, a drug from his own time who appears in the form of hallucinations that only Elon can see and hear. And so Musk finds himself leaping from life to life, striving to put wrong what once went right, and hoping each time that his next leap will be into Hitler."

rellett 2025-09-28 21:27

stock will go up, elons cult will make it happen

Phyllis_Tine 2025-09-28 21:37

Once Elon solves the problem of how those unwanted robots are going to buy all the unwanted Tesla vehicles, the stock will truly shoot to the moon.

Patient_Access_9311 2025-09-28 21:41

New 10-K filled with the SEC?

TimeTravelingChris 2025-09-28 21:44

Honestly, any responsible board would issue a shelf or ATM offering to take advantage of the absolutely stupid share price.

Total_Job29 2025-09-28 21:49

Definitely - driving around where I live I see plenty of BYDs and the number of Tesla’s has dropped significantly - most moved over to Mercedes, Porsche, Audi around here

judgeysquirrel 2025-09-28 21:56

The loss of sales of the environmental credits to other automakers will be huge.

judgeysquirrel 2025-09-28 22:02

BYDs battery tech is better than tesla's. You don't get there by stealing IP. Stealing IP just lets you keep up without putting in the work.

SpectrumWoes 2025-09-28 22:25

BYD builds your dreams, Tesla just sells the dream

Grunge4U 2025-09-28 22:40

Yes and Musk bought the election for Trump to do him this favor.

kombiwombi 2025-09-28 23:12

Tesla uses Panasonic's battery I.P, so Japanese not US innovation. It's CATL who make the batteries used in most EVs, then BYD, then LG. The US famously opposes LG building a factory in the US and deported Korean staff who were in the US to do technology transfer to US car makers. At this point it's pretty plain that the US isn't interested in battery innovation.

CrossingChina 2025-09-28 23:16

There are communities for redditors with Chinese cars

bthest 2025-09-28 23:48

How do we know Elon isn't sockpuppeting a majority of these alleged stockholders somehow? How do you get this many people in lockstep to things against their interests at just the right time over and over again?

0o0o0o0o0o0z 2025-09-29 01:13

> When the dump starts it’ll be over very fast indeed. A lot of money to still be made, just don't be the last dude holding the bag.

tryatriassic 2025-09-29 01:26

No byd in the USA. It's that simple. Sleepy Joe put in 100% tariff on Chinese EVs.

Far-Improvement-9266 2025-09-29 01:36

That is likely exactly what is happening. You notice when bad news comes out, he drops some massively stupid and completely unattainable idea that makes the stock go up. It's insane that people eat up all of his crap.

[deleted] 2025-09-29 01:37

I mean there is bitcoin that produces nothing and has no revenue

Far-Improvement-9266 2025-09-29 01:39

I really can't argue with that. Tesla stock being akin to crypto makes a lot of sense honestly.

Jaguarmadillo 2025-09-29 02:24

The Chinese cars don’t have a cult of mouth breathers who invest their life savings in the drug fuelled leader’s latest hallucinations

ChollyWheels 2025-09-29 03:00

But unless and until he sells shares, he gains nothing. And didn't he buy more? I suppose the higher the price, the easier for him to get loans against his vested equity -- but would be interesting to know how banks value his collateral. Do they not understand the potential downside?

eurea 2025-09-29 05:25

personally where i am, reddit is banned, so the discussions happen in Facebook, whatsapp mostly. i think my country (indonesia) isnt used to forums like UBB (or reddit) i think thailand is similar FB or Line (their whatsapp eqv)

zedk47 2025-09-29 05:38

But but, Optimus! And Robotaxis in Paris and London "next year".

_Captain_Amazing_ 2025-09-29 06:00

There is typically a floor price set when the loans are made. If the stock price drops below that floor value it requires the borrower to sell shares to make up the difference.

Visual_Collar_8893 2025-09-29 06:08

He’s getting the government to use Grok. Tesla isn’t as important to him any more.

ChollyWheels 2025-09-29 06:55

\> If the stock price drops below that floor value Interesting. So he has a big incentive to keep up Tesla share price in the near term - as he (for example) funds SpaceX, planning (perhaps) eventually to take that public. Which also means his big show of buying more shares of Tesla is not necessarily a vote of confidence in its long term prospects.

meteorprime 2025-09-29 07:24

Reddit is global

meteorprime 2025-09-29 07:24

Oh?

meteorprime 2025-09-29 07:26

See this is what I’m confused about it if there were so many of them on the road then why don’t I hear from the customers? Anything that gets a big hype train always gets a big online community and the best selling car should have a big community.

CrossingChina 2025-09-29 08:02

A few of us in NIO have the car. Xpeng sub too. Problem is too many stock cultists in both. But there is still car discussion.

atpplk 2025-09-29 08:13

Bitcoin is both a digital token and a blockchain, which is a really strong consensus algorithm. This is what bitcoin produces: a globally available distributed ledger that is non-alterable. That does not have 0 value. E.g, if you want to prove paternity of some concept or idea, you could just publish it on the bitcoin blockchain and it would be a very strong claim if you need to prove the date of conception in the future. Same kind of services exist provided by escrows, but imho this is less reliable than a crowd of hundred of thousands escrows that all agree on a fact.

atpplk 2025-09-29 08:23

Good luck getting the french admin authorization for that

zedk47 2025-09-29 08:40

Honestly, having driven thousands of kilometers in the Paris area, I really struggle to see how robotaxis could work there. There are official rules, but you need all the rest to survive...

atpplk 2025-09-29 08:49

Not only that but France really is conservative when it comes to automation, especially in the transports sector. There was a guy experimenting some kind of jetpack but he never got authorization to test on french soil.

I-Pacer 2025-09-29 08:49

1.2% market share but a market cap larger than the 10 largest car companies added together. Cool and normal. Nothing to see here…

Substantial-Rise1662 2025-09-29 09:51

'Let me sell you the dream!' - Richard Trager from Outlast (2013)

Ouch259 2025-09-29 11:36

No they haven’t. They would like to but robotaxi is in year 9 of an 18 month project. They missed its last launch date of June 22. If they have a 100 cars on the road by next June I would be surprised. As for Optimus its years from being a product, maybe even a decade.

Juan wrote on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 @ 19:39: I came across BYD's Instagram account, there are quite interesting videos among them. But also see features/options there that I can't find anywhere. Like a 3d overview of the Seal (is really 2.0 update) the control panel is also different (swiping from top to bottom) https://www.instagram.com/p/DO0Q0SLjV2V/ The account is BYD Europe, it seems to me that these videos are aimed at the European market, where what is shown is also available. That video is not from the Seal, is it? The dashboard of my Seal looks different anyway. The touchscreen also seems to react very quickly in that video. Mine always feels a bit laggy/non-responsive (but hey, even that's much better than how slow touchscreens from many other brands react). 🧐

AdFront8465 2025-09-29 14:34

You can buy drugs and other illegal stuff for bitcoin.

neliz 2025-09-29 14:39

that's the dream that is sold, the reality is that the blockchain will eventually become too large and stale to operate, leading to just a few entities actually being in control. If you think national banks (and backing) are "too much control" than bitcoin multitudes worse since control and processing is becoming too expensive for the end-user.

New_Half_6055 2025-09-29 15:57

Aren't there like 800 byd models? Harder to find a significant following of just one

meteorprime 2025-09-29 17:05

Well, if there’s 800 different cars and millions of them are selling, surely people would be talking about owning them

torokunai 2025-09-29 19:27

the shitfit Elon threw when he saw OBBB coming was indeed epic. It put Epstein back in the news LOL.

torokunai 2025-09-29 19:30

yes, and > Top 25 too

alex4494 2025-09-29 22:14

They’re selling VERY well here in Australia, BYD is now a mainstream top-10 best selling brand that basically anyone/everyone is aware of. I think the lack of reddit discussion is because Chinese cars aren’t sold in the US, and a lot of redditors are in the US…

meteorprime 2025-09-29 22:25

There’s definitely like international communities all over Reddit though that’s what I don’t understand If there are millions and millions of these customers, and they’re in English-speaking countries, why aren’t they talking about their cars.

New_Half_6055 2025-09-30 15:02

Don't they have their own closed internet or some shit? The only chinese with access to reddit would be hong kong. And I'm sure they have their own preferred social medias

meteorprime 2025-09-30 15:19

Well, I hear that China is shipping these cars out globally in a big way.

New_Half_6055 2025-09-30 16:21

They're growing in Europe but it still seems like there's no more than 500k-1mil Chinese EVs there. They've got a lot more options in Europe than us in the US for EVs. 40% of US EVs are Teslas. 10% of European EVs are Chinese. Make of that what you will

meteorprime 2025-09-30 16:28

Sounds like a fucking shit ton of cars. Where are the customers?

Master_Impression981 2025-09-30 23:40

And the Tesla holders they will tell you the story that Tesla is not a car company!!!

BadOrange123 2025-09-30 23:40

does elon realize Optimus was the og trans ?

I-Pacer 2025-10-01 10:06

Well at 1.2% market share (and falling) they may be right!!🤣

New_Half_6055 2025-10-01 19:25

All over. Which is probably why there's not a collective following yet. Though the byd subreddit does have 40k weekly visitors. This sub, 100k. So it's there, just not huge yet.

2begreen 2025-10-02 05:51
