neliz 2025-09-08 16:09

The got fewer than 600 orders in 3 months, amazing!

dtyamada 2025-09-08 16:54

600 in 1.45 billion. Nothing to see here.

missionalbatrossy 2025-09-08 17:05

Oh dear me

Ragnarok-9999 2025-09-08 17:06

They don't buy harley davidson bikes also. Why buy these when cheap Hundai cars and Hond bikes are available?

Ragnarok-9999 2025-09-08 17:08

where Hundai and other foreign and locally made cars are being sold. 605,433 domestic made Hundai units sold in 2024

Spottswoodeforgod 2025-09-08 17:37

Literally, nothing…

Status_Ad_4405 2025-09-08 17:46

Elon really should be doing better in a country where Hitler is so popular

Dubiousjinn 2025-09-08 18:04

Bullish.  Stock up 7% on this news because Tesla isn't even a car company.

[deleted] 2025-09-08 18:26

Tesla cars can barely drive themselves on the disorganized roads in America. Who in their right mind would have any hope that it would do better in a place where driving is even more disorganized...

kadinani 2025-09-08 19:01

Currently Tesla has 1 showroom in the country. All the people here expect people to travel thousands of miles and buy from there. lol..

kadinani 2025-09-08 19:02

Grow up and before commenting negatively have some sense . 1 showroom in the country and u expect everyone to come there to buy. lol.

Red-FFFFFF-Blue 2025-09-08 19:07

I think India buys like 10,000 luxury import cars a year, or about $700M.

EarthConservation 2025-09-08 19:34

Versus 2023. 2024 sales were down. Margins were down. Cybertruck was a dismal failure. 2025 sales so far this year are down an additional 13%. Margins are down. Profits are down. Cybertruck sales are even worse. The move to enter the Indian market has been all but pointless. As a result of this stellar performance /s.... this Tesla board thinks it's time to give Musk a massive pay package! \_\_\_\_ Musk owns about 20% of Tesla's shares, or about $200 billion in stock. If the company underperforms and the stock plunges, so does his Tesla stock value. He has all the incentive in the world to work his butt off to make Tesla a success. If anything, the board should offer him absolutely nothing, given that if Musk leaves, the stock will almost certainly crash, and Musk will be out tens, possibly even over a hundred billion dollars in stock value. The idea of Tesla buying xAI will be thrown out the window, so Musk's $100 billion in inflated value there will crash as well. Musk clearly wants to become the world's first trillionaire. It'd be really hard to achieve that if Tesla stock tanks.

[deleted] 2025-09-08 21:14

Maybe Elon shouldn’t have been shitposting about Indians awhile back

GlitteringNinja5 2025-09-09 05:37

Yeah there's a 70% import tax and many other taxes that doubles the price and there's no service and charging infrastructure for tesla. Why would anyone buy that and there aren't many with that kind of money.

LongjumpingPlay 2025-09-09 05:59

Tesla is not positioned as a luxury import car. If you can spend 40,00,000 INT you’re going to want a Benz or an Audi or a known luxury brand. Tesla does not really have the high end reputation.

LongjumpingPlay 2025-09-09 06:01

Will Tesla really crash if musk leaves? It’s completely irrational at this point. The stock is up because of belief in musk. The stock will go up if he leaves because yay all this stuff will get turned around. Maybe they’ll add lidar to the cars? That’ll keep it pumping.

OarsandRowlocks 2025-09-09 08:25

Well there will be lower pings to the 'FSD' data centres though.

egowritingcheques 2025-09-09 08:44

Guys guys.....cars is last years news. Nobody sells cars anymore. Self driving is last months news. Maybe they hit their FSD target, maybe they didn't, nobody cares. It's all about robots this week. How many robots did they sell in India? I bet it was plenty. Tomorrow I won't care, it will be all about something new and exciting. Bullish for TSLA.

soldieroscar 2025-09-09 12:50

Doing bad in this sector? Was never our target anyways. Cars - not a car company Truck - slow sales due to ramping of new model y FSD - everything depends on our robots anyways

Dubiousjinn 2025-09-09 13:16

ALL BULLISH.  And bullshit.   Tesler is the worst.

EarthConservation 2025-09-09 19:38

Musk is the snake oil salesmen that sells investors on all of their vaporware promises... whether they're actually realistic or not. If he's ousted or leaves, and the company gets back to their real businesses of vehicles and battery storage, and stops concentrating efforts on vaporware, then the company is worth about 90% less than it is today. Of course, if Musk were to leave and sell his stock, given that he owns 20% of the shares, when it's highly doubtful there are buyers for all of those shares at these inflated valuations, it would cause the stock price to crash. That said, Musk will never leave. He simply can't without losing over a hundred billion dollars in net worth. It would also mean he can't convince Tesla to buy xAI... a company he owns about 56% of, or about $100 billion worth at its excessive valuation. If the idea of Tesla buying xAI goes out the window, then my guess is that xAI's value plummets as well. The idea of offering Musk a $1 trillion pay package to stay... when he literally can't leave without devastating his net worth... is beyond stupid. The only reason this proposal is even on the table is because the board is fill with Musk's sycophants that'll do anything he wants them to do. They're being paid handsomely to be Musk's yes men/women.

LongjumpingPlay 2025-09-10 00:43

I think you’re assuming that musk is a rational human being. Which I’ve kind of lost faith in at this point.

ponewood 2025-09-10 15:20

I thought that was the whole point. Random braking and running into things and stopping in the middle of an intersection are all normal in India.

EarthConservation 2025-09-11 14:54

I should say... if he cares about his wealth, he can't leave. If he doesn't care about his wealth, then it doesn't matter what the board and shareholders vote for. However, if he doesn't care about his wealth, then asking for a $1 trillion pay package doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

India has no shortage of Mercedes and bmws on the road. It’s a really really tiny % of population who can afford it but that tiny % still counts to more than population of some European countries. Don’t forget about total population of India.
